ALI IN TROUBLE - DRUG ARREST!

@MN5 Ali is a fuck knuckle for sure but a comedian he is not.
I have never appreciated Ali's cliched brand of humour. Like the oh so side splitting time he and SBW decided to do anything but answer questions in WC presser. Im sure it was funny in his head but it was a classic "died on stage" moment.
It didn't surprise me at all when I found out about Ali. I don't think its that big of a deal TBH at his stage of his career. Let he who is without sin etc cast the first blah, blah - so I can't really go all holier than though.
JOC though. Just a couple weeks ago at the 10s Aussie coms were saying he's so young he can come back and give it a real go. Nah! He's a young dumb coont that will go down in rugby history as a coulda, woulda, shoulda but did too many lines, retired because of severe repetitive stress disorder in his right hand from having to flick his hair to one side and marrying his reflection. Just a massive waste of talent. When he was good I felt uneasy with him in the Wallabies backline. Shame.

@taniwharugby It says more about the individuals. The much-maligned Ben Tameifuna also plays for Racing but I haven't seen his name in the media for the wrong reasons.
Although according to reports he was seen partaking in the evils of fast food takeaway

a bit tongue in cheek pal. I agree that AW always comes across as massive douche and his haka always irritated the fuck out of me given he's a first generation NZer.

haha, seen something on Social Media saying are we worried that this and DCs DIC is impacting our image overseas...would it be that bad if it stopped French clubs buying our players

I think his haka was great, more so because he was a first generation NZer.

Each to their own. I'm not a big fan of the Haka either way.

Haaaaa. That makes Warnies ' my Mum got them for me' story seem plausible!

I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not (normally when I background something with that line, it normally is), but can he fall foul of sports doping agencies for this? He's in-season on a bye week, allegedly caught red handed buying coke by the cops.
Even though he tests negative, do they have any rules or sanctions for it being in someone's possession? I imagine if a cyclist was found with a bag of PED's but tested negative that doping agencies would still have something to say about it.
Yes he's at the end of his career, and yes he's a knob. But he's still an active professional sportsman buying drugs. I'm a little bit surprised by how the media has reacted to this. Without opening a can of worms about league vs rugby players behaviour, because it's not my intention (and league players win hands down for being dicks) I imagine if it was a Kiwi league player caught doing the same thing that Rattue wouldn't be referring to him as a "victim".

Kiwi leaguies have a lot to learn from their Aussie counterparts about dickhead behaviour ( or else they're far better at hiding it )

Cocaine is listed as a stimulant on WADA's list of prohibited substances.
I'd say Racing or World Rugby would more likely ban him.
What punishment did Karmichael Hunt receive from Queensland/ARU on his supply and possession charge?
Presumably not as much punishment as that which Frank Pritchard meted out to him for turning his back on the kiwi jersey...
(6 weeks. Roughly half of what Ben Barba got, though he actually tested positive)
-
wasn't Ali there more in a mentor/minder type role for DC (although been playing a little too) so you'd think they'll can his contract?
-
@taniwharugby He has played ten games for them this season. Seems more than a role of minder to me.
Anyway, here are some of the WADA rules that would apply to Ali if he has indeed tested negative and they can prove that he bought the stuff for JOC. Obviously, this all doesn't apply if there is no final guilty verdict from a court. (JOC's case is different; I have not included the rules that would apply to him)
