A reality check for the unstoppable Indians, while I was watching the footy.

And as a bonus, Wee Dave and a Marsh (0) are also gone.

    #draintheswamp

It's hard for me to lose on this pitch. 🙂

The delivery that got Pujara was a fucking ripper. Just took off on a sweet spot in the deck and the poor bastard had very little chance to do something about it early in his innings. A little hesitant, it must be said

Kohli was out to a very poor shot in the worst ball of a good over.

Ashwin caught off the boot is a bloody slice of luck.

    Great catching by Handscomb, too.

Wade got a good stumping, but still can't catch.

Great bowling effort. Australia still need to make sure they get a big lead though. India could turn it around. It's only day two but it sounds like the pitch is tough to play on.

Looking at the wickets, SOK was just bowling well, with consistency, and pinning them down.

At one point it was 6 wickets in 5 overs for 5 runs. That's pressure

I've spent the last couple of weeks on the wind up with my Aussie club about the lack of real quality and character of Smith's , comfort stop, team. But that 105 business is the biggest fuck you to me and other doubting Thomas's ever.

A terrific piece of cricket. Brilliant cricket, india at home first dig and all that entails

Classic Aussie cricket with a back to a wall. fluffybunnies 🙂

It's just stupid from Warne. O'keefe has been the best performing spinner in Australia for the past five years. Agar doesn't put up anywhere near his numbers. I think O'Keefe will probably supplant Lyon soon.

Warne's not much of a soothsayer, is he? To be fair, he couldn't even predict the end of his marriage when everyone else could...

It's been a great test to watch so far - unless your an Indian fan, in which case I can only say 'suffer in your jocks lads'.

Our second innings has been particularly pleasing. I've seen games like this and with our ability against spin and a fired-up Indian side I was expecting us to be 6/50 and the game back on an even keel.

But Smith has batted very well and Renshaw, Handscomb and MMarsh have given good support. And the Indians have been fielding like shit.

The key is aggression IMO. I'm not one of the 'play your natural game and slog the shit out of it' guys, but on this pitch it seems you're never really in and there's a ball with your name on it just around the corner. So you have to get as many runs as you can before that ball arrives...

Hope we can push on today and set them 400+, but at home I'd never ever rule them out. Especially with Kohli in the batting lineup.

@barbarian would be more worried about Pujara - can bat for days. Got done by a beauty in the first innings, will need something similar in the second.

I wouldn't write off the injuns.. I can see them chasing 400 on their home turf..

    Good grief!

You Aussies have turned into angst-ridden nancies.

No wonder your sporting empire has crumbled. 🙂

Not even a combination of VVS Laxman and Donald Trump is getting out of this one.

Steve Smith can field with a martini with a small cocktail umbrella in one hand as he guides the team home here.

By himself and he'd still be better than the Indians in the field.

Great hundred by Smith there. Could be his best.

Lead is 400 now, anything more now is gravy. Still won't rule the Indians out...

Last wicket off the last ball before lunch. SOK not giving a fuck - just wants to get into the Indian batting lineup again.

Not going to find it quite as easy this time.

Will be interesting to see if Smith goes with the same bowling strategy as he did 1st Innings - keep a paceman fresh and on rotation.
