About 200 pages in. Once the Tour de France finishes I will have some reading time. Hard to do both at the moment.

I'm about 800 pages in and starting to get mixed feelings. I want to finish quick to find out what happens and want to savor it because it could be a long wait for the next instalment.

I liked it though. A bit Harry Potterish in places but absorbing none the less.<br />

Maybe try Joe Abercrombie. I just finished the First Law series a few months back and really enjoyed it. http://www.amazon.com/Joe-Abercrombie/e/B001JP7WJC<br />
<br />
Am looking for to reading A Dance with Dragons. It's been a great series so far. Even managed to get the missus on to it after watching the TV series.

am in the middle of another series with a book due in August, once I have those out of the way, me thinks I will get into these.<br />
<br />
Anyone listened to the audio books of them? As I travel a little bit for work I find it a good way to get through books...

I 've done the auidobook thing - the first three were okay - pretty good narrator but in the fourth book they changed the narrator. It would be like watching two of the lord of the rings movies and then they change all all of the actors. Added to the fact that the fourth book seems to deal mostly with the minor character development it's a hard slog. The thing I found annoying was that the Game of Thrones books were twice as expensive as other audio books that I downloaded.

yeah that is what I have found in the series I am reading with the change of narrator. While for the most part it is ok as it may span a few hundred years between books (in the fantasy world) but the most recent one is the same series of characters, which is annoying...

Download calibre e-book management software. Similar to i-tunes for ebooks. Allows you to convert downloaded e-books to your kindle.

What that man said - Calibre is very good and allows you to schedule downloads/conversion/transfer to kindle of magazines and RSS feeds. You can get the full version of the Economist for free too. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
I use the klip.me "send to kindle" chrome extension in combination with Readability - one (or two) click to send an article to a kindle via email.
