Some Aussies are on unreal money.

Watson still gets $1.85M for his 6 weeks work. Faulkner gets $1.45, which is more than both Smith and Warner on about $1.1 each.

Wee Davy's doing alright though. Not as good as Kohli and Dhoni, but better than the other Aussies.

And just to really make your day....

That article about improving test cricket seem bizarre to me. Especially the bit about the toss. They firstly suggest that we should get rid of the toss to prevent home baked pitches. Then to back up their point they point out that England won a lot of tosses in India and lost heaps. I think that just proves their point is wrong.

it may ease by then. They'll probalby only need an hour or two to get ready afte rthat. Eden Park drains really well... just have to get the rain to stop.

also, weather forecasting here in AUckland is a bit like the SANZAAR judiciary 🙂

I'm calling that it will be all done. the Metservice forecast is from 4am -- I prefer the MetVuw that shows little to no rain in the evening.

you heard it here first folks 🙂 Optimism abounds

edit: I mean that there will be play, possibly a reduced match, but still play

Yeah i follow windguru and its looks clear this evening. Even had a period of rain with no clouds late this arvo which I struggle to believe.

Did have a nice fine patch before but raining again now albeit lightly.

    Fingers crossed

Shows the difference in quality of grounds between Napier and Eden Park. Here in Auckland we have had 24 hours of rain, overnight and early this morning it fair bucketed down.

So... it's been raining all day on and off.

Hoping that it's all cleared now and we're on for tonight. I'm still optimistic

Hope so - certainly looking like it from the SA side anyway.

Right now we're going to be chasing 200 if we don't pick up a bunch of wickets.

The Trent Boult and Assorted Muppets Show so far.

Let's hope Ronchi bats a damn sight better than his keeping tonight.
