I actually enjoyed day one of the tens a lot more than I expected.

Chiefs are going very well against the, thus far, unbeaten Wild Knights.

It's 21 to 0 to the Chiefs at half time.

Alaimano scores the fifth. The Wild Knights haven't turned up yet. Too easy.

    33-0 Chiefs

The commentators were just talking about the temperature at the stadium. Apparently, it's 34 degrees in the shadow. If they are considering organising a 10s tourney next year again, should it really be held in Brisbane. These conditions are insane!

Full time: Chiefs 33 to Wild Knights 5.

Chiefs are through to the quarter finals (top of their pool?).

So the Chiefs make the QFs in the end with that win. A nice touch in the pre-game huddle when the call was "Wax".

It was always a massive risk to play this tournament in Brisbane at the height of summer.

Send the state house 9s back across the ditch and host it at Eden Park.

Great team try scored by Samoa's Mealoi! That's the kind of play you want to see in these games!

Sydney had been hotter than Brisbane the last two days ....

I know its only preseason and hes only young but Trainor looks very very poor. Underwhelming. Im guessing Perofeta is injured? Think he had a niggle going in.

Finally, the Blues get rid of the donut: Curtis scores. Crusaders 17, Blues 7.

The ref sounds exhausted. The only guy on the field who can't be subbed.
