Yep Kruger. He was a fucken hardass if I recall. Another bloke of similar ilk from that era ( Andre Venter ) is also not well at all.

Kruger wasn't big by SA loose forward standards but he was tough.

Out of the 3 players he actually was the youngest (39 yrs) when he died after a long battle with brain cancer in 2010.

Him and Venter were great players. Real old school hard men. Really sad their health packed in like it did.

Joost was a great, a gamechanger in the truest sense. Possibly the best 8 of last thirty years. RIP.

Kruger also phenomonal. Kronfeld said in his book that he learned more about running lines from Kruger than any other player.
