    Yeah!

They're probably worried if they play on a wet ground in Napier they'll all get campylobactor!

Why don't they all just walk down to Nelson Park? The outfield looks pretty good there and its not as if there will actually be that many spectators left in a few minutes. They can use my car's headlights if they need some light later on.

Honestly what a bunch of soft cocks.

It's not even wet enough to get a mouthful, or even just slip and get a bit of a sore knee (shouldn't say that or someone will hurt themselves - probably someone important like Kane).
Not sure if that is a reverse jinx or actual jinx...

Somewhere in Sydney, @Nepia 's "anti-Hawke's Bay" warning alarm has just gone off.

Neither set of players want to play. We're 1-0 up; they are focused on India; we're focused on South Africa.

some dude on cricinfo has said Napier has had 5.8mm of rain today. What kind of a backward shithole can't drain off that much water? McLean Park is good for fuck all.

It's not even a good cricket ground anyway. You would assume they would make sure everything else is perfect.

In even more WTF-ery, it's barely rained there for a month so you'd think the ground would be like a sponge!

@mariner4life We've had 13mm here today and I just tested a run-up in my paddock. It's still slippery on top, because it's still drizzling - but the soil is solid as.

@Chris-B. TBH most of us up here are pissed off at NZC for staging a cricket game here and jinxing our perfect run of sunny days. This is the only dodgy day for a while and it's back to sunny and hot again tomorrow, while the rest of you will back back to your cloudy and dreary lives.

Yeah, it's been dry as and windy as well, so the ground is like concrete.

    Cric info:

6.05pm Another inspection in 25 minutes, folks. We've had four inspections to determine the next inspection time.

Anthony: "Absurd. Player-preciousness aside, in this day and age if Napier can't afford covers that extend well beyond the circle, then take international cricket away from them."

Even @Nepia admits that Hawkes Bay is our bunny!

They haven't beaten us since Steve Tew abandoned his campaign to get rid of us and the Chiefs' region teams had to give up on stealing all our players who didn't otherwise know whether they'd have jobs.

There are teenagers who don't know that Hawkes Bay has ever beaten Ta$man!

I'd imagine there will be plenty of people welcoming some rain - but, I am mystified as to how the ground could be unplayable other than the grass being wet?

to be honest, in Napier, it's only 5m from the circle to the boundary, so they may as well cover the whole field
