@Rancid-Schnitzel I feel very sorry for him. He always looks damned miserable. Also, like he's never been dirty or kicked a ball with his mates, ever.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel Yep. The kiddies should always be off limits. I'm always saddened when I see pics of the family and everyone is rigidly at attention. Like no one seems to hug the kid or try to make him smile or anything. FFS. He's just a kid. Ease up.

I actually dont think it is funny. Attacking Trumps kid is pretty low.

given the school shootings in the US, I dont see how this could be seen as funny, ever, no matter who's kid.
I think Trump is a twat, am over this whole thing, but jeez the media like to latch on to every minute thing he does and blow it up.

A similar crack about Obama's daughters probably would have had her fired. No hypocrisy to see here....

I can't really get my head around the "woman's rights" protests against Trump. What woman's rights has he said he is going to revoke? I wish just one of the protesters/rioters/looters could articulate a specific answer instead of the emotive bullshit I keep hearing. It's pretty difficult to take them seriously.

Tragedy plus time equals comedy. The speculation that Trump's youngest has autism fits the profile for a joke; young, white, autism = school shooting.

It's a reflection of the fact he's an old white Republican who gets to nominate a Supreme Court Justice, putting at danger Roe v Wade. I do find the sisterhood solidarity tedious; you live in an entirely different country and didn't have a fucking march for the oppressed women living in shithole countries...

Seriously? I'm surprised you don't know his policies. He's gone back and forth on abortion (e.g., in the past he was pro-choice but during the campaign pledged to punish women for getting abortions) and will, more than likely, stack the supreme court with judges who don't support Roe vs Wade. He expressed support for planned parenthood but then said he'd defund it because abortions:

I'm might not be caught up on this, but all of the people I know protesting here in Japan are American - as well as others in Germany and Norway (also, all US citizens). I'm sure there are others who are out there standing with the sisterhood too., but my understanding was that this was a worldwide protest by US citizens against his policies towards women (could be wrong though).
It's the only policy of his I truly can't stand. But I'm not from the US, so I don't really care in any personal way - hence I'm not out with my colleagues today in the freezing bloody weather.
-
I doubt they're all Americans...
-
That is a lot of people, so mostly non-Americans I'd assume too.
But, we also don't know how many are US citizens, which was kind of my point. We might be surprised to find out how many of those are US citizens living overseas. In which case, although I think they should accept the result, I also think they are fine to express their wishes that he doesn't appoint justices who repeal Roe vs Wade.
Edit: Contacted my friend now to ask about the crowd and sounds like a mixed bunch, but also plenty of yanks and international couples (so husband is from Aussie, wife American etc.).
-
@gt12 so all of those protests around the world are about what he may or may not do in regards to abortion? I haven't heard any of them mention it when interviewed, all I've heard is overly emotive statements that make little sense. At least that's a specific answer though, but I would think they'd make it more obvious that they are opposing that specific issue, and would do it once they are clear on his stance when in office.
As I said, it's pretty difficult to take them seriously when they are so vague on the issues.
-
Can't argue with that. A very good friend of mine is a huge Planned parenthood supporter and she has gone so far over the edge I had to block her from my facebook feed. So, I totally agree that some of them have let their feelings get in the way of the purpose of being out there. But, at the end of the day, I think if you are about women's health there are some very good reasons to be making your voice heard right now.
I don't think it will help though, by the way.
