Amazing bowling from Ish last night. I'm sure an IPL contract isn't too far away.

Haha Warnies ego might take a hit if he reads this:

"The boys have rejuvenated my love for the game," he said. "On the field and off it, just the conversations I had with guys like Brad Hodge. Today I got to meet one of my heroes growing up, Stuart McGill, and you can't put a price on that. I will take some great experiences back home with me and hopefully I can impact some of my team-mates."

3rd ODI under way in Perth. Aus win the toss and... bowl?

Starc rested, Mitch Marsh out, Handscomb in

    14/0 in the 3rd

Was impressed by the way Ish spoke in the interview too

The speed and control of his bowling on a big stage suggests all the ingredients are already there for significant success in all 3 formats so hopefully he can get the mental side right and start ripping through teams in whites one day soon. He seems to fall away in effectiveness in test cricket - bowls bit slower and less consistently although that's to be expected given the duration of spells,
He said he talked to MacGill about patience and longevity of spells - good!

@Duluth Relayed to on-field captain that the statistician had pointed out one of his bowlers had got Shane Watson out two times in the last eight balls. So Hodge promptly brought him on to bowl the next over at Watson.

    ah shit.

Passed on a stat about one of the Adelaide bowlers had dismissed Shane Watson twice in his last 8 deliveries to him. Lo and behold that bowler got the next over.

Now, Hodge probably (almost definitely) already knew that, but it's not a good look.

The guy in question is a tool, and just seems to excited to be along side, or talking to, some of the most famous cricketers in the country. Fuck him off.

Not the right way to go about it but if it led to Watson getting out then I don't have too much of a problem with it.

Very much a case of the ends justifying the means.

Watched a bit of the game last night. The commentary team was so bad I had to turn it off. I really miss the great 9 team of the 80's and 90's -- they may have been pro-Aus, but they appreciated good cricket and gave both teams a fair go.

The current lot ..... not so much. My ears hurt.
