How's the pitch playing? If Rosco got a ton I'm assuming it has settled into being a good batting track

Yes it is a bit easier to bat on now. Still a bit there for the bowlers with the new ball but as Latham showed, if your defence is solid early on then there are runs to be made.

No problem with the weather tomorrow and there should be some cloud cover around to assist the bowlers. Henry must be due some luck.

Shot Black Caps and great work Rossco. Again, what a record for a NZ batsman.

All over tomorrow. Just like their predecessors this Pakistan team can't play too well overseas.

Yup, no major demons in the pitch but it's far from a road, some variable bounce at times which Wagner will exploit. Will take a huge effort from Pakistan to save this game.

Feel a little sorry for the Pakistani bowlers today. It was blowing a gale in the Tron, would have been shit to bowl from either end. Here's hoping the weather calms down for us tomorrow.

@Mokey I don't feel sorry for them at all. If the boot is on the other foot we are flogging ourselves out on dustbowls in 35-40 degree heat. I hope tomorrow is cold and overcast 😉

You talking about the number 2 test side in the world who haven't lost a series in their last 12 and drew 2 all in England?

Yep I am. They lost soundly in the last test and sure as shit won't win this one so it's looking at least 1-0 to the BCs comfortably.

Pakistan have done a good job of parking the bus mid-pitch.

Barely a run an over to date, going to be a long day at this rate. Least there's a chance of the day being called off early if there's no chance of bowling them out.

The clouds are starting to disappear too. It seems to be the variable bounce rather than any swing that is causing some problems.

Sounds like the batsmen are in now. Santner needs to do a big job here but I don't think there is much out there for him.

If we can't make inroads a Pakistani win could come into play

295 to make with 66 overs and 10 wickets remaining.

If they go at say 3 an over for the next 16 overs that would give them a 50 over target of 247.

Not easy without the ODI fielding/bowling restrictions, but possible.
