All of a sudden theres the full on sex scenes at full blast and me scrambling to turn down the volume on the tv in case the wife accuses me of purchasing porn from Sky! -

Just past the halfway point of series 7 of 24. Jack Bauer is without a doubt the coolest character ever to grace the small screen.<br />

Series 7 (i think) of Entourage is going good to, with porn star Sasha Grey fucking up Vince's career, but also getting nude. While i love the show, i think its just about time they ended it, the stories are on a repeat cycle. -
with 2 episodes of Terriers to go, I do shake my head at why it was canned (am sure there must have been some stats to show it's viability...) Especially when you look at the quality of some shows that manage to keep going (CSI Miami)

Just finished watching the last episode of series one of The Inbetweeners. This series is hilarious so far. I have resisted watching it so far as I think that a lot of English comedy is overrated (for it's apparent 'cool' factor against US comedy), but this one lives up to the hype!

" The Almighty Johnsons" looks pretty good from the preview clips and reviews. Made by the Outrageous Fortune with that OF undercurrent of great characters, comedy and lots of cleavage.<br />

The brothers are all 'Norse Gods' and there seems to be friction with the equivalent "goddesses", but instead of taking itself to serious and geeky the characters are all like average Joes as well.<br />

If it lives up to the bits as shown so far it looks a good watch. -
Finished Season 7 of 24 last night. Fuck that show is awesome. <br />

But the end was just the set-up for the eighth and final season. Really pissed me off. I guess its off to download what i can, 'cause i am not sure i can wait. -

I'm slowly acquiring all seasons of 24, I've only watched 1 and 3 so far (on the idiot box when they aired here) - so good that it keeps up a good standard.<br />

Watched the final Friday Night Lights ever last night. Great show, it's nearly up there with The Wire in my opinion (except it has its not so god season at 2 instead of 5). Pity that no one in the US ever decided to watch it! -
I love Friday Night Lights, and have turned quite a few people onto the show by loaning them my copy of the Season One dvds. You can blame Season 2 on NBC executive's interference, who wanted more teen type drama BS. They also helped almost kill the series by advertising it as a football show, and putting it on on Friday nights. Idiots. Thankfully DirecTV saved it and gave us three extra seasons of great TV. FNL was bloody brilliant, and the marriage between Eric and Tami Taylor is one of the best depicted on TV. Watching the final was actually kind of depressing to me, knowing that it was the last ever episode..

Yea, i have the first 5 seasons on DVD (which i am about to rewatch i think), and i think i will acquire the last 3 to complete the set -

I know that feeling (I had it at the end of The Wire and The West Wing as well), although I do tend to think that it did go out on top rather than wither away, which is a good thing. <br />

What disappointed me the most about this season (it was still awesome though) was the lack of football. They seemed to avoid playing the games like they used to. Also it did annoy me that Tyra and Landry weren't given screen time/mentioned in the final ep, that was just dumb. Also, coach's reaction to Matt seemed a little out of character, yes he would have been pissed at first but I think he would have given him some sort of fatherly advice. But all in all a good ending to a great series.<br />

I was reading an interview that stated that Kyle Chandler actually came up with the Coach Taylor stare and that all the actors were encouraged to ad lib stuff etc. I think that might have contributed to its realism. -
Am quite enjoying Castle, along with Criminal Minds, probably the best in it's genre for me. <br />

Another old fave, Bones started up again on Thursday too (see shades of Bones coming through in the main 2 characters in Castle, which is whay I probably like it)<br />

Have heard a number of people comment on 'The Almight Johnsons' that they are unsure if they liked it or not, and will need to watch another to decide if worth continuing...I recorded it, so will check it out sooner or later -
I dont get the hype over 24, I watched the first half of season 1, found it kinda boring to be honest.

It's been a few months since I have done one of these what I am watching posts. So an update is probably due. What I am currently watching and enjoying:<br />

Comedy wise, I still think Community is the funniest show on television. I am also enjoying the third season of Parks and Recreation which just started a few weeks back. Modern Family and 30 Rock rank behind them, but still good for a watch.<br />

Drama wise, my favorite show on right now is Southland, which just started it's 3rd season on TNT in January. I think it is the most realistic cop show on TV right now. Gripping at times. Also enjoying season two of Justified which just started last week. Timothy Olyphant is excelent as Elmore Leonard's Marshal Raylan Givens. Based on the first episode, season two is going to be a cracker. I am also really enjoying the US version of Shameless. I have never watched the Brit original, and am intentionally staying away as to not ruin the US version for me. But I love the concept, the cast, and the stories so far (which I believe have been very true to the original). I will catch the UK version once the USA version season one finishes airing. -
Southland has been great this season, in all they ways it wasn't last season. It was awful last season as it had no structure. Great this season although tempered by the most likeable character leaving the show.<br />

Yep, Community is still the funniest sitcom around, although I must say I'm impressed with the latest season of How I Met Your Mother, they managed to turn the last few seasons around. Parks and Recreation is great, even with the addition of that Adam guy (the other new guy who is not Rob Lowe, something about him annoys me).<br />

I've also been watching Sports Night as an oldy but a goody. I don't remember it back then but I like Sorkin shows although I think it would suit an hour long dramedy set up rather than a half hour sitcom.<br />

Have you watched the new Sarah Shahi show Rusty? I heard it's crap, but honestly, I'd watch her in anything! -
Last season sucked because NBC canceled it before it started airing (but after they had made 4 (or 6?) episodes already. Not helped by actors leaving the show while it was dying to go to other parts. Once TNT saved it, they put the ship right for this year. The character leaving the show was just brutal. And great TV. But brutal. Like I said, my favorite drama right now, so much so that I watch live rather than in DVR delay like I do with most thing. I like Adam Scott. He was the main star in Party Down along with Lizzy Caplan. The show was made by Rob Thomas (of Veronica Mars fame) and stared a lot of VM alumni, including Kristin Bell and Ryan Hansen, as well as Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, and Martin Starr. A brilliant comedy, worth checking out if you have not seen it. There are only 20 30 minute episodes, so not a huge commitment. I saw the first two episodes of Sar Shahi's Fairly Legal. It is light mushy drama like every thing else on USA (Royal Pains, White Collar). OK, but nothing special. I preferred her in Life. I never watched the L Word that she also starred in.

I was flicking through the TV channels tonight (don't usually watch actual TV outside of rugby) and saw that a) C4 is now Four, and <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> more importantly it is screening Community! Watch it if you haven't already, they are on the 2nd episode.<br />

Rusty: I tried watching Party Down but it is filled with actors I don't really like - Adam Scott (although, less so after P & R), Lizzy Caplan (I really can't stand her), so to Lynch (she plays the same character all the time and it's funny for about a minute). I like Kristen Bell obviously and Hansen is ok but I'm not really a big fan of Marino or Starr. -

It was innovative when it first came out, that is probably a bit tired watching it now. Has one of the better endings for a US show that first season. I got through Season 2, but gave up halfway through Season 3 as it was just getting silly. -
Boardwalk Empire started here last night, first episode was pretty good.
