Lol this is funny as fuck. We're going to get smashed by three hundred runs and they don't even have their best bowler!
And yet, the Marsh boys will still make the next test...
Mitchell Marsh got 2 wickets and has so far compiled a glorious 15 not out.....
Sir Garfield Who ?

me me me me moo moo moo moo
the fat lady is in the back, warming up her vocal cords. Aus 6 down now after the Waj misses a straight one from Duminy and they are 6 down.
It bears repeating, rolled out for 242, Aus 158-0, and here we are on day 5 with Aus 6 down with another 300 required. And they lost their best bowler.
-
That run out by Bavuma was extraordinary!
Oz probably lost at least one wicket too many yesterday to have much belief that they could hold on for a draw today.
When you see Mitch Marsh bowl you can see why the Aussie selectors would love it if he could bat at six.
However, as my grandmother used to say - if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

Well done Proteas. A big win away from home. The daggers will be out

Will the selectors wield the axe though ? @NTA I don't wanna sound like Virgil but that is four losses in a row ( hold the phone, I just remembered the Black Caps have five on the trot ).

There will be changes given Marah is out with a broken thumb. Joe Burns and Callum Ferguson have been added to the squad.
I reckon Siddle might get dropped and they'll try Mennie.

And their second best bowler. And their best bastman.
I was referring to the ones they started the game with.

That's a pretty incredible turnaround. Saw Smith acknowledge they've had a number of collapses in recent times, pretty tough problem to address and really just comes down to not having a world class top 6 like they've had in previous years. Warner and Smith go big or they tend to struggle. Very similar problem to the BCs with Kane and Rosco and fuck all else.
SA lost Steyn but that meant that Rabada was able to step out from his shadow and show what he can do - injury permitting he is going to have one hell of a career. Can't compare him to Steyn obviously but he has all the potential in the world.

Steyn is just incredible, and yuo can't compare many people to him.
Tenth on the most all time wickets, playing at teh top level for 12 years, averaging 22 per wicket - what a legend. Of those above him, only Hadlee (0.01 per wicket) and McGrath (1.3 runs per wicket) average less than him.
Dead set legend of the game. and he looks like Gary Oldman in the 5th Element - what else do you want in a crazy fast bowler?

Australia's biggest problem is that they have Marsh at 6 and Nevill at 7. Their top 5 isn't terrific but I think it is good enough when the ball isn't spinning. I think they should just pick Burns at 6 and pick 4 bowlers, even if Marsh was fit.
Rabada is going to be great. It will be interesting how he will do in Hobart. Australia at least made him bowl quite a few overs.

Siddle now goneski and they are saying Jackson Bird will come into the squad.
So three from the 1st test are definitely out.
Lillee was on the radio this morning getting stuck in after the news came through about Siddle breaking down. Very critical of the coaching.

There is a big disconnect from the cricket side and the sports science side at the moment, and it's causing a heap of angst. There is a feeling among the cricket side that there is far too much reliance on sports science and their view of workloads, compared to the age-old mantra that bowlers need to bowl to stay healthy.
Not seeing the data that they have, i can't really make comment, but what ever they are doing at the moment is not working, as the Aussies seem to have as many bowler injuries as ever.
Fierce criticism coming in about the selectors picking a 12 for the first 2 tests no matter what. And then that 12 stinking out the joint in the first. Apparently Bird will come in to the squad, but won't play?
I see Mark Waugh singled out Warner as a disappointment as well, and rightly so. He did leave a lot of runs out there considering he was killing it. He's very much a victim of the old B-Mac "that's the way he plays" speak. That run he attempted in the 2nd dig was a stupid call given the game situation and how well he was playing.

England making playing in India look easy (as long as you win the toss) 311/4 after day 1. Of course a hundred to Root, while Moen Ali will come back today on 99*

Did you watch any of it M4L? It looked an extremely green top for an Indian wicket. I had to recheck that they weren't playing in England.
I watched most of the first two sessions and despite the wickets, the runs were flowing. Ali was Mark Waugh like in that 2nd session.

Good, I hope they smash 7 shades of shit out of them. Fuck I wish we'd at least one won toss over there...

@ACT-Crusader nah just the highlights, and like you, i had to check the location! Certainly not the deck i was expecting.
