Never gets old. It'll be dad joke status soon. I can't remember who cracked the shits but it is has given us heaps of material. Thanks whoever that was!

So possible players by position.
Please correct me where I am wrong and someone is not available coz they've moved overseas and I've missed it.
I'll put who I understand is likely to be with the ABs or who is injured in brackets first.
Haven't watched a lot of M10 Cup but have thrown in a few blokes whose name has popped up in the odd game I have noticed. Again tell me if I'm wrong and these guys are no chance ... or are not Maori eligible. Ta

Stepping through the week 9 playing squads thread a few other names pop up.
Not all teams named thereupon yet...
Please let me know if these guys are any chance and we'll update the possibility list.
11/14 Caleb Makene
11/14 Beaudein Waaka
11/14 Declan O'Donnell
9 Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi (plenty halfbacks ... )
4 Jackson Hemopo
8 Heiden Bedwell-Curtis
11/14 & 12/13 Matt Faddes (is he Maori?)
12/13 Teihorangi Walden
6 Jordan Manihera -
@booboo
1 Edmonds is injured; Josh Hohneck going to Gloucester
1/3 Mason Kean (NZU20 player, about the same level of experience as Makene)
2 Quentin MacDonald will not be available because he'll be heading to France where he's signed with Oyonnax; a contender might be Tangaere (justifiable if you also include Makene on that list)
8 Mikaele-Tu'u (NZU20 player, about the same level of experience as Makene, although younger)
9 Gibson-Parks is playing in Europe; if Smith doesn't go on the EOYT, Weber might not be available
10/12 Tiaan Falcon (contender for next year's NZU20)
11/13/14 Not sure which Lowe you have on your list (I assume you mean James Lowe), I'd definitely add Jonah Lowe who has been outstandingFrom Act's lists: not sure Nick Barrett has played any Mitre 10 Cup this year; Triggs, Wheeler, Nick Crosswell, Codey Rei, Kurt Baker all gone overseas

@Nepia You may be right about Mikaele-Tu'u, although I vaguely remember reading somewhere he was part Maori, but that may be wrong.
Yeah, not discounting that he is hence the question mark.
@Whites72 According to this article his Dad is Samoan, it doesn't say if his Mum is Maori which could be a possibility I guess.

I read somewhere that the Leinert-Browns were part Fijian.
Ha, reminds me of reading the Walter Little/Frank Bunce book. Little got selected for a Maori team then his Mum told him he couldn't play, he had to ring the coach and say "sorry, but I'm not Maori"
I guess Frank Bunce's mum told him to keep his mouth shut when the Samoan coach called him up in 1991.

Apparently Tim Bateman is a likely tourist. Back in Christchurch, sniffing around for a Crusaders contract, played for Ta$man B the other day. Hardly done anything that warrants Maori selection but two articles I've ready this week have phrased it in such a way that it seems Tim is in the squad.
