NRL 2025

Pretty decent weekend of footy in the end
The Bulldogs were fucking good running right over the Raiders. Salmon with the best try celebration we'll see all year.
Then the Wahs with a professional end to a game get the chocolates.
Cowboys and Panthers play out a draw. Wee bit of shithousery from the Panthers trainer to give the talking heads something to bleat about this week.
Obviously yesterday Melbourne showed they are the best team in the comp still.
And it's going wrong at Manly, the natives are getting very very restless. DCE is obviously public enemy #1, but Anthony Seibold is copping plenty as well. The ladder is ridiculous. Normally after 9 or 10 games we know who is good and who is not. Wahs are 2nd with a points differential of 1. Panthers are 16th with a points differential of -2.
I think you can pen the Dogs and the Storm in to the top 4, i think the Raiders will definitely play finals, the Wahs as well, probably the Sharks. But does anyone really trust anyone else?

Cant believe Im saying this, but Metcalf's decision to go early on the drop kick was masterful, even the normally reliable Val Holmes was spraying them under pressure.
On that how shit are some of the hookers in this comp. The delivery for Holmes was awful and had him kicking wide, Dolphins were also crap with a shit hooker, but the icing on the cake (who I dont feel sorry for) was Penrith who Kenny ignored Cleary and completely stuffed him twice, even with trainer playing silly buggers

The one he missed was a bad choke. Wahs charge and chase was non existent, maybe he just had too much time

Yeah the Dolphins hookers are non existent currently with Donoghue and Harrison Graham. Both look reserve grade quality at best, woth Donoghue being a half anyway, and as for Damien Cook, he's played a fuckton of rep football yet still hasn't developed anything other than a running game. Average kicking game below average passing game, all he could ever do was run.
You ain't wrong when you say the quality of dummy halfs in the comp is down.

this will be the last round before Origin 1 teams are named, and by fuck Queensland are in trouble.
A guy in as good a form as Papi probably doesn't even get picked. The form players of the comp are all big name NSW stars, Moses and Cleary will kick Qld to death. Reckon it gets ugly in game 1, Suncorp or no Suncorp.
Not even Laurie Daly's questionable coaching can save us.

I love that we are second on the table. I love that we are 7-2 I love that we have beaten the likes of Manly, Dragons, Knights, Broncos, Roosters - teams that I cannot stand. I love that we have a points difference of +1 and are sitting 2nd, tells me this team has some ticker to win those close ones.
It’s our y…..
-
while St George are not a great side, they are actually reasonably hard to beat. That win on saturday was a sneaky good one
We went up early to that terrible score line
We were away from home
The home side came roaring back
The way we set the field goal up was so no-nonsense. -
JFH back for the Warriors.
With both TMM and Healey named on the bench, I expect one to drop out of the 17 before kick off, preferably for RTS, meaning Capewell can strengthen what looks like a weak bench at the moment.
While I’m enjoying the close wins, my heart rate would appreciate a more comfortable win this week… a good start to that would be shutting down the Dolphins dangerous outside backs.

listening to the Sports Breakfast this morning and all the nuffies ringing in to tell Laurie who to pick. The main thing it did is ram home how fucking stacked NSW are this year, and their biggest thing is who to leave out.
Edwards, Tedesco, Papi, Turbo, Latrell, Best, Lomax, To'o, Chichton. 9 of the best players in the comp for 5 spots.
I can't even pick a Qld backline. We need Hammer to play two positions. We need to drag DCE out of rep retirement. I know Qld do this shit every year, hell Mal used to try it with the greatest Origin team of all time, but this year is seriously depressing.
-
Tedesco, Kiraz, Olakau'atu, Papi, Turbo and W,Egan, Hynes will all likely miss which is impressive.
Capewell may end up having to be in the Qld squad purely for experience due to form and injuries this year. I assume Ponga has to play fullback just to allow Hammer to play centre. Will be interesting selections incoming. I am going to assume Lindsay Collins (who only comes back this week) and Horse will be the starting front row. Nanai, Cotter pick themselves, Gilbert better as a middle but poor as an edge.. Not sure if Plath will be fit to back up Grant. A few old timers could be rolled out -
god i hope you are wrong on just so many of those calls. If Capewell gets picked i am not even watching.
Bro Tino is starting. Cotter probably the other prop but his form is shit. Hopefully Gilbert plays in the middle. I would pick Horse, he is nuts and you need that. Tino Gilbert and Carrigan is nice starting middle to take on the NSW metre eaters in Hass, May (if selected) and Barnett.
The NSW back row is fucking loaded as well. It's not fucking fair!!!
