Nice to see McKenzie and McAlister back. I think McAlister has been a pretty underrated signing tbh. Should be a belter of a game. Crusaders favourites for sure.
With BOK as ref that is a guaranteed win for them.
you have to be fucken kidding me

Crusaders favourites for sure.
Certainly hope so. I'll be more than happy to win!
@Bovidae Ben owes us about 67 minutes of cards - plus interest at minimum 6 percent - for ALB not being upgraded to red in the 2023 Final, and I hope he doesn't forget.

Tamaiti Williams, Codie Taylor, Fletcher Newell, Scott Barrett, Antonio Shalfoon, Cullen Grace, Tom Christie, Christian Lio-Willie, Noah Hotham, Rivez Reihana, Sevu Reece, David Havili (c), Braydon Ennor, Chay Fihaki, Will Jordan
Replacements: Ioane Moananu, George Bower, Seb Calder, Jamie Hannah, Corey Kellow, Kyle Preston, James O'Connor, Dallas McLeod
Probably our strongest overall side
Blackadder for Christie would be significantly better.
Not sure whether we could somehow deploy Brewis instead of Calder.
Big test for Rivez. Kemara has gone decently in general play (not so much in his more recent outings), but his goal kicking has been well below standard. If Rivez can match him in general play, this will be a useful upgrade. If not, we'll have to use O'Ćonnor to start. A good test!
Ennor will be rusty, but from what I've seen he's signifcantly better than McLeod or Aumua. Hope he can stay fit.

@ACT-Crusader 3 players in front without being latched on at all? Yeah nah.

Sounds legal to me!
In all seriousness, the maul has been a problem for the past 2 decades. Players joining on the side and in front after the maul has been formed has been the biggest blight but is so rarely called.
Thereās the set up obstructions as well, plus the calls of āuse itā and when it doesn't get used, itās not called.

@ACT-Crusader it's more the way it is policed, refs allow the attacking team more latitude in breaking the rules.

The Chiefs really have been lacking a specialist 7 since Cane left...I'm not sure Jacobsen is the best pick here but with Parker at 6 maybe it's a left and right flanker combo instead of the tradditional open and blindside flanker??
Aside from that it's the best team the Chiefs can put out, will be a vey interesting game.

Chiefs with 4 out of the last 6
In Christchurch it's 5-2 in the same period. Although it's 2-2 in the last four games in Christchurch

It's the reason they signed Brown. He may have been concussed in the Highlanders game, but isn't listed as injured. Jacobson is the best option as he wins a lot of breakdown turnovers. I'll repeat myself, Parker isn't a 7.

Parker's too big and too slow to be an effective openside surely? Why would he even be considered there?

I agree, but McMillan has played him there. Last year vs Reds being one example.

Chiefs playing like they are chasing the game in the last 10
