    @sparky but plenty do...

A lot harder than free throw in basketball.

    Calling bullshit on that

Flat court. Regulation basket always at the same height. Contrast that with a green that isn't flat, can be wet or dry, fast or slow.

Funny old game golf. Rory had it in the bag but repeatedly looked like he was going to do a trademark choke. Hopefully getting the monkey off his back will mean he can be more composed in future.

But for carding the 4th worst round 3 score Justin Rose coulda shoulda wone the green jacket comfortably.

@dogmeat yeah that miss on 15 and 18 would likely have haunted Rory otherwise!

You'd hope that wont be Rose's last run at it, but he'd likely have been the oldest winner if he had nabbed it?

seeing the emotion on Rory, it is little surprise he missed that putt on 18, dude probably had heart rate of 130+

Class by Rose and Bryson after too.

What a round. Brilliant and horrible at the same time. Couldn't watch towards the end. Deserved champion, will love watching him at Augusta for the next 30-40 years.

He was definitely on the ragged edge for the last few holes. I'm glad he won because it might have destroyed him mentally to lose again. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes on a tear now

astounded when they said it was his 17th Masters start at the age of 35!

was off Rory when he got stitched up by the PGA to be the mouthpiece against Liv, but i wanted him to win this weekend. By christ he made it hard on himself today, he was right on the edge of an all time collapse the whole round, but kept finding unreal golf shots to get himself back up.

Rose did everything he could today, great final round.

His reaction reminded me of how we all felt winning the 2011 RWC. More relief than joy. Then elation came after

It was simultaneously an almighty choke and an amazing triumph. He was dead three times in that round but somehow kept coming back.

I think it helped that only Rose made any sort of run and Bryson fell away early. If Bryson had been serenely knocking in birdies, Rory may well have combusted

Not a round he's gonna want to watch again in a hurry. I think he would be physically ill

I don't actually know about that. Sometimes I think Rory is better chasing it than trying to hold a three shot lead. Look at what he did on 13- if he's one back there's no way he's laying up there.

What a round by Rose by the way. A Sunday 66 to almost steal it well into his 40s. He's had an outstanding career, still punching in majors while his contemporaries (Stenson, Westwood, Kaymer etc) languish down the bottom of LIV leaderboards.

Pleased for Rory McIlroy. The best golfer of his generation and now he has a full set of major wins to show for it. He's a fine ambassador for Northern Ireland and the game of Golf so it will be good to see him rock up at Augusta for the next 25-40 years.
