Proctor’s missed free throw was the biggest play (and yes the foul call on Flagg was rubbish). In my bracket I had Duke losing in the Elite 8 because I thought Proctor’s FT shooting would cost them.

He’s a good player and will be a star in the Boomers one day, but he needs to fix a couple of things not only in his mechanics but the mental side.

Crusader, you must be happy to see the Boozer twins commit to Duke for next year.

Imagine if Flagg committed for another year (to avoid being drafted no1 by the Wizards or Hornets…), Duke would be off the charts!

Intense scrappy game. Gators pulled off a Houston on Houston - low scoring, defence orientated performance.

I'd love to see it..... Tbh, I would love to see more players return for a second year, but I get it, lottery pick money is too good to postpone.

    Well done Gators, deserved winners.

Nuggets fire coach Malone, GM amid 4-game skid

Nuggets fire coach Malone, GM amid 4-game skid

The Nuggets, in fourth place in the West, fired coach Michael Malone and said they will not extend GM Calvin Booth's contract.

First Memphis, Now Denver. Malone only won a chip for them two seasons ago, they have had injury disruption, but at times the knock as been that they aren't as engaged as they should be. Seems like a poorly timed decision to me, perhaps they hope for a dead cat bounce into the playoffs? I don't think Malone or Jenkins will have issues finding new jobs

You have to assume that they ran it past Jokic.
The talk is that the coach and front office weren't on speaking terms, so someone had to go. It's a surprise that they fired them both though.

This must encourage all of the arrivals in the Western conference. With three games to play in the regular season, I don't see this decision having any possible positive consequences as it relates to the upcoming playoffs

    I agree.

It would make sense imo if they had someone from outside the organization in mind to take over but it looks like David Adelman is gonna be the interim. Hard to see how an assistant who has been part of Malones coaching regime is an upgrade.

Unless of course there has been a major bust up in the locker room and players have demanded that he is fired.

The takes of Shaq, Vince Carter and Candace Parker.

I think Shaqs insight is valuable. He basically said that of all 4 of his rings he won 3 of them with a lot of tumult in the locker room, players at odds with one another and a lot of tension. Champion teams always have to overcome some sort of adversity, that's how they become champs by battling through when lesser teams capitulate.

If the players were not listening or have not been owning their part in this I just dont see how an assistant coach remedies this.

I read a factoid about the recently completed WNCAA basketball final. When UConn won, Vanessa Bryant posted on social media that Kobe and Gigi would have loved to see them win. Gigi would be 18 if she were alive today, and would probably have been on that squad. Scary how time flies

Referees report reveals reason for Luka Doncic ejection, Jarred Vanderbilt makes ‘personal’ point

Referees report reveals reason for Luka Doncic ejection, Jarred Vanderbilt makes ‘personal’ point

Were the refs being biased against Luka Doncic?

Luka gets ejected late in the game for abusing the ref, but he says he was trash talking with a fan (who actually backs him up). Bizarre, and the refs double down on their decision post game

Bro did you see Luka watching his Mavs tribute video.

Absolutely fuck the Mavs front office. It's not just a bad basketball trade, it's a shitty thing to do your talisman. Trade him when he WANTED to be there. Then shit talk him for a month to try and justify it.

Luka hates it. Every single one of your fans hates it. And your team is worse because of it.

Professional sport or not, this was a shitty thing to do.

What was their rationale? I know getting rid of a superstar like him is dumb but was there ever a coherent, intelligeble reason ever given for doing it?

Fwiw I've always disliked the Mavs (no offense to any Mavs fans on here)....

In large part because I have a soft spot for the Spurs but also because I found Mark Cuban highly annoying.

New owners didn't want to pay him. In a GM who thought he knew better. Crazy decision.

Yeah ridiculous, less than a year after going to the finals...... Unless I'm mistaken they did the exact thing with Steve Nash back in 2004.... Didn't want to pay him then he won back to back MVP titles.

That one was on Cuban. But he sold the controlling stake in the team. Apparently he has no input into day to day basketball decisions
