Someone needs to tell the Hurricanes marketing team that real Superheroes wear Yellow and Black.

Why pretend that you're Marvel when your jersey was worn by Jerry Collins, Christian Cullen, Tana Umaga and Ma'a Nonu?

Jerry would have beaten the living shit out of the whole Marvel Squad.

@Dan54 you cant see ANY connection? there are lots of the same players straight away, of course there are also new players and the old ones may have improved, but its not a completely clean slate every game

Yep see connection etc, just when I both played and coached, I never thought we would lose or win because of what happened last game. Though I understand where you coming from etc, and probably just my way of looking at games.
Don't know why, I always truly took every game as a clean slate type thing.

This canes jersey makes no sense at all.

Pretty sure the jerseys aren't aimed at us, the clue is in the words "kids round"?
And I was just talking to my 7 yo Great grandson, he loved the Canes jersey (I ain't buying him one) but reckons he wants to watch the spidermen team play tonight.
So in my world they a success, as I never really seen him look at a rugby game before! (And I have tried)

That sucked. Good game of rugby though. A lot of should haves...

Landers created plenty of opportunities , some poor options, pushed passes etc.... cost them

I thought they looked devoid of solutions towards the end. No clear pattern of play. Slow ball from rucks to forwards standing still.

Didn't take the option to attempt a drop goal when they were in a better position, and like McAlister went for a hail mary miles out.

I think you are not giving credit to Canes at the end, they were pretty bloody good at slowing ball down and setting defence. I can understand why JJ was happy with drop goal attempt at end, as he said, the team at least tried to set up a solution , when they couldn't break through. Also didn't see which Cane it was coming at Gilberts right lag to help make him kick a bit left shouldn't be ignored.
As A Canes man I was pretty happy with that last 10-15 minutes.

It was a massively disciplined defensive effort. Shame they couldn't shut the game down earlier when they had the chance....

Maybe sour grapes, but not sure either side goes out of that game with much credit - I thought attacking wise it was absolutely dour.

As expected the Canes loose forwards were too good for the Landers ones, and that was ultimately where the game was won and lost (outside of the missed kick/missed penalty).

Not really sure the Landers have the solutions to fix it either… IMO, Bell and Renton come back in, because both will offer more defensively/around the ruck.

On reflection. This close out showed the lack of a bench we have. Modern rugby requires the ability to lift tempo. Apart from a few players we weren't able to do that. Especially in the backs.

Lasaqa, Bartlett, Vikena were great impact off the pine.

I just feel when we can get to a point where our bench, in the backs offer Fakatava, Hurley, Howden, that can offer fam breakers.

As well as Umaga Jenson instead of Te Hiwi who offers see F all

Im not sure if there is room for a midfielder.

    16 Vikena 17 Barlett 18 Kautai 19 Howden 20 Lasaqa 21 Faktava 22 Millar/faleafaga/Gilbert 23 Hurley (if JRK is back)

    Gilbert doesn't make my 23

Possibly not, but my point is they have had space for Te Hiwi the last 2 weeks, at least we know Umaga Jenson can be in instead of them moving forward. Offers so much more.

I think they just want Umaga-Jensen to get some proper minutes under his belt due to his history with injuries. IMO, because Gilbert can in theory cover the midfield, Manson would have been the man to have in 23.

I think it's a good win for us. We still wait to insert our first choice midfield, so any win with PUJ and Sullivan is meritorious

Yeah the Canes will look like a completely different side with Higgins and Proctor in the centres. Our outsides will see a lot more ball as well.
