i had never even heard of these guys until a random song on a random Spotify play list threw them at me the other day and it made me sit up and listen. And i cannot get enough.

I know it's not about him given his recently departed bandmate.......but Paul Weller went between genres brilliantly in that era. From Punk to New Wave pop to kind of alternative by the early 90s.
Fantastic artist.

Amen.
Style Council were amazing and then his stuff in the kid 90s stood up to the Britpop indie that was all the rage.
He had an incredible 20 year run.
Talented guy. A bunch of very different but terrific tunes

Been listening to Zenyatta Mondatta the past couple of days..... My favourite track off the album.
One of my favourite songs instrumentally, such great baseline and drums.
The Police were such a good power trio. Was just listening to this the other day !
A amazingly talented group of guys that just gelled. Sting obviously went a bit sappy but they could rock with the best of them in their day.
Loads of diverse stuff in their brief career. I also love this wee number.

Yes, that is a great tune. I love how they had that post punk vibe and infused reggae guitars into their sound.
In fact I love how in the late 70s and early 80s reggae influence extended into many acts - the Specials, the Clash etc.

@MiketheSnow My favourite too.
@nonpartizan Underground, It's A Mistake, Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive and Be Good Johnny are worth a listen as well.

Probably as far removed as anything discussed on this thread, but this is absolutely gorgeous to listen to with a glass or three of decent burgundy
