R Ashwin retires.
Amazing player
11 player of the series awards which is highest by an India. So influence on a match cannot be understated
Great player not the most liked person by other players.
Still a great competitor . -

Still a great competitor .History will also judge him as a home track bully too, still, it’s not enough to just play at home, you have to perform and he sure did that !

Will remember him the same way I remember Anil Kumble. Great bowler, great record, but never one you'd type into Youtube to watch his highlights. Grinding and dour.
What ?!?!?!?
That is a weird take.
Probably the most interesting finger spinner I've seen.

Indeed, most of us would love to be good enough to be home/flat track bullies at a decent level of cricket...
Or in my case literally in my backyard. One of my brothers would bat all day and then bowl me out within an over. The fluffybunny.

Dont think that is entirely true either, bowling average over 30 only in Aus, Eng and SA (and 1 match only in NZ) , but contributions with the bat have been impressive from a number 7 at times.
I would say his most famous was his 39* in Sydney over and above any of his 6 x 100sSure dominated at home, but has some great stats even if it is not one we generally think about

Still a great competitor .Which is interesting as he always speaks well to the media and comes across as really nice.

He is what he is difficult.

Konstas in, young kid in form no fear, lets see if he makes debut on boxing day..ballsy call but I like it from Aus selectors
Edit: surprised McSweeny the scapegoat though

He is a real talent, I would not be surprised to see him succeed.
Even though he is 19 he could be the next big Aussie batting star.
I have seen him bat for a couple of years at the Aussie u/19 nationals. He has an all round game certaintly has no fear. -

I'm not.
Why would the selectors drop Marsh for securing no rubs and bowling no overs when we need him?
(Yes @MN5 I'm back)

I may as well gripe on here given you have a five test series and our three test series is over

BMac didn't even look like hitting it, the ball was just way too good for him.
He openly blames himself for that one. Says that he broke his own very simple golden rule - watch the ball.
Coney (I think) was talking about it during last England test.

Was driving quite a bit for work last week and listened to Coney, Smithy and the rest on the wireless during the last test. They are SUCH good value. Informative and bloody entertaining.

@MN5 radio commentators for cricket are God Tier
Flick on ABC Radio commentary when I am doing school run or other stuff. Channel 7 is OK except for Hayden (much better than Ch 9 before the switch), but radio is a step up.

Yeah obviously they have to paint the picture more than the TV guys given we often can’t see what is happening.
Are there any good Indian commentators over at the moment ? Harsha Bogle is always great value and Wasim Akram was brilliant when Pakistan toured
