Chris Cairns is also in NZ, which means he, McCullum and Vincent will be likely be in the same room since the 2015 Cairns' perjury trial.

McCullum and Vincent were still 2 years away from debuting back in 1999.

Read the article. I assume they are meaning all are in Wellington this weekend for different reasons, not just the reunion.

Yeah Vincent got a fantastic ton against a legendary Aussie team ( plus 50 in the second innings ) on debut. Seriously, every single Aussie player was a gun.

How many have reached said milestones?

19 players have reached 9000 test runs.

    16 have 10,000.

Brian Lara suffers marginally in these lists because he got so few not outs. Most guys got around 20-30. Kallis got 40 and Chanderpaul got 49 !!!! Always good to boost the average a bit.

    Lara got SIX.

Not an exact measure but to me he’s the best batsman of that list.

Younis Khan, Jayawardene and Sangakkara the most underrated.

Your point stands regarding averages, but the question was for aggregates. The first list in the image is also fewest innings to get there, so also takes no account of a denominator with not outs. Lara sits 4th on both, as you correctly say Kallis gets a big boost from 10th to 3rd!

The point of that is that the fewest innings list is quite a good reflection, that isn't distorted by not outs, and the associated position in a batting order that the player frequented.

For an aggregate run total not outs in theory hurt you because you could have got more runs if you didn't run out of partners. In particular, I think Chanderpaul is probably affected by this, since from memory he batted at 5 a lot in some pretty average west Indian sides so probably ran out of partners a lot.

Yeah Lara had exactly the same problem but sounds like he hit out a lot more.

The analysis of their records is interesting, Not poles apart in terms of averages and Chanderpaul was great in his own way but Lara was next level.

No perfect way of doing it and batting position is always going to skew it one way or another.

Seven minutes. Or another over of playing a dead bat. That’s all that stood between former Black Cap Jeet Raval and the world record for slowest century in first-class cricket. The Northern Districts opener and captain was almost apologetic when he raised his bat first ball after lunch at Mount Maunganui on day four of his team’s Plunket Shield match against Central Stags on Tuesday. He’d just reached a marathon century at Bay Oval. After nearly nine and a half hours of resolve, his 551-minute knock was just six minutes quicker than the slowest first-class century of all time.

Sophie Devine is commenting on the Aus vs Ind series. Aren't we playing them in a week? What's the training like?

So Santner is now officially the white ball captain. Maybe I'm missing someone but feels like about the only realistic contender once you rule out Kane and Latham, since I'm not sure there's anyone else who is both a guaranteed selection and ready to be captain.

Has a cricketer ever as maligned as Santner ever had a turnaround like he has ?

    Very impressive stuff

Most of the blame for this can be placed on Flemings shoulders

yeah but putting Crowe in there (17 centuries / 18 50s) with Fleming (9 centuries / 46 50s) is surely taking the piss!

He's only 2 away from having the same as Crowe and Taylor combined (who have second and third most).

Can do the same exercise with Hadlee and 5-fers.

Fleming was a better player than the conversion rate would indicate.

But yes, you have a point

And played 86 tests compared to their combined 220 tests (113/107 respectively). Also bowled in 150 innings compared to their combined 377 innings (174/203 respectively).

Just wanted to have another bitch about our schedule this summer. Our last game against Sri Lanka is the 3rd ODI on 11th January, then there is zero Black Caps game until 8th February, when we play Pakistan in fucking Pakistan?! Then that is followed by the Champions Trophy between 19th February and 9th March. Then finally, on 16th March, we get some international cricket in NZ with Pakistan touring.

So between 11th January and 16th March, I.E. the NZ summer, we have zero international cricket being played in NZ.

    Fucking absurd.
