@delicatessen As long as he's not getting out thats the main thing
He's looking like he could get out any time.

Ravindra currently on 6 off 37. Is this what we've been asking for?
If he goes on to score big then taking his time at the beginning of his innings might not be a bad move. Will see if that happens though.

Batting time is advantage to NZ. The longer their openers run around in the field the harder it is to bat. Slow is fine- there's 3 days to go still
-
as long as he doesnt take the cARSE bait and go to silly now
-
Ravindra winding up now, dont know if instructed or just feeling he is in finally, hopefully not needlessly aggressive which tends to lend to the easy dismissal. Kane in the nervous 90s, 220/3
-
100 for Kane with a 6
-
Yet another ton for the great man, incredible player

Well played Kane, outstanding 100. Both players ramping up the runs now.
-
5 tests in a row he has scored a 100 at the Tron...wow

He got lucky after Pope dropped a difficult legside catch but that makes up for the 1st innings.

He averages 97.69 at the Tron. Bradman-esque.
-
and there is that easy dismissal but to be fair, looks like they are ramping up and not looking to stick around for long

All out for 347.
Actually a pretty handy enough score, much better than I thought they’d get to
Middle order really bailed out by Santner (and WOR).
Here's a thought.
In a five day test match, why not hit most of the balls along the ground. Especially if you're supposed to be a specialist batsman!
Bradman would be turning in his grave watching players with so much talent repeatedly throw their wickets away, he averaged 100 because on top of his talent he absolutely never hit the ball in the air, because why would he? The way batsmen play today is certainly entertaining and we get results in test matches far more often due to the higher run rates, but at the end of the day absolutely none of them are going to get close to Bradman's stats if they continue to hit the ball in the air all the time, no matter how talented they are.

Bradman himself said there were other guys with more talent but the edge he had was that he could concentrate for longer.
I think he was being a bit self effacing though.

Some talk in the radio commentary about sending in Southee next to see if he can get the two sixes he needs to get 100 of them.
Given he hasn’t contributed with the ball and yet this whole series is all about him I say why the hell not ?
He should have gone in as night watchman lastnight. We were never in any danger given the 1st innings lead. If he survived lastnight he could have had a crack earlier today

Im sure he will contribute with a economy rate of 6, will that help?
