did anyone watch the end of the Lions v Bars this morning? The last drive was meme-worthy.
Bears make an error on the punt and allow it to go to the 1 yard line. There are flags all drive long, which bailed the Bears out (the last PI was bullshit). And then at the death, down 3, in field goal range, first Williams takes a sack, there's a penalty, and then they are out of field goal range. Run a play, incomplete, they try to run another play for some ungodly reason (they had a fucking timeout) and Williams takes an age to call the snap, and then release the ball, and the clock runs dead while the ball is in the air. Just an appalling piece of game management by all involved.

I was shocked Eberflus kept his job in the summer, i will be even more shocked if he has a job tomorrow.
Today's fun fact. 221 coaches have 20+ games decided by 7 points or less. Matt Eberflus's record in those games is 221st

The Chiefs get away with it AGAIN
The Texans beat the Jags after the dirtiest hit of the season takes TLaw out.
Chargers win again, pretty much sewing up a WC spot.
The Steelers beat the Bengals in a high scoring entertaining game. Burrow with another 300-yard/3-TD game in a loss.
Eagles beat the Ravens on another night when the previously damn near perfect Justin Tucker misses two field goals.
Unsurprisingly the Niners fail to deal with the blizzard in BuffaloBills have clinched their Division, the first to do so. The Chiefs are guaranteed a WC spot at least.

@mariner4life Bengals would be doing very well if they could defend.
-
NFC North looking like a three way dog fight, Packers and Lions H2H next week going to be interesting
-
Mike Tomlin in his 18th year has still never had a losing season.
-
It's insane. And he's doing it with a pretty average squad. Some nice pieces on defence but hardly the Harlem Globetrotters.
He's got the best out of Russ, he's rejuvenated Najee Harris, and used Pickens and Jaylen Warren really well.
It's yet more evidence of the importance of good coaching.

Both 49ere running backs McCaffrey and Mason headed to Injured Reserve. McCaffrey (PCL strain) and Mason (high ankle sprain).
We are cooked. Injuries started early and never stopped. A combination of multiple deep playoff runs and failure to retool in some areas, like the O line. Time to shut it down and regroup next season

Yep the signs were there in the offseason and then as early as Week 3 on the field.
Need to make some coaching changes too. New defensive coordinator and new special teams coach badly needed.

We are a victim of our own success. Losing DCs to the Jets and the Texans hurt us. I still have faith that Shanahan can do it, but he does need to have a look in the mirror

Yeah hard to sustain success as long as the 49ers have. Don't think they need a wholesale rebuild but the issue is the end of Purdy's rookie deal. Now they enter the big money QB era and have to make the compromises that every other team has.
But for the Chiefs I think we would have won a SB during this window. Purdy has played well, but he'll have to justify a big deal playing with fewer or lesser weapons

Enterntaining MNF game for the neutral, but not either Bronco nor Browns fans.
Jameis Winston of all QBs has shredded the excellent Bronco defense to the tune of 476 yards and 6 touchdowns. Problem for the Browns re 2 of those TDs are pick-6s.
Jerry Jeudy revenge game in Denver has been ridiculous.Bo Nix has done alright himself as well.
Game is not dead yet either
Edit: okay it is now. Denver wins -
Denver defence did enough in the end. Unsure why Payton was getting Bo Nix into a shootout with Jameis - some of those deep balls were questionable at best.
Nix looks the goods though. A lot of poise and can really sling it. No reason to think they can't win a playoff game.
