When we still have Jamieson and Sears to come back to add to our bowling depth, the BCs really are in a good space.
Not sure how much we can rely on Jamieson. Fingers god damn crossed though !
I knew we had the batsmen to step up when required but some of the bowling performances were just amazing.
What’s even wrong with him? Feel like he’s been out for years.
Back issues.
If he does come back fit and playing well SURELY that is the end of Southee given he’d be bowling alongside Henry and O’Rourke and we’d then have to find room for at least one of the spinners.
As you say, it’s a good space ! Some excellent players will miss out during the test series against England.

The 48 that Young scored to get us home in the first test was very Kane-esque, just cool as a cucumber under pressure. So many amazing moments to remember from this series.
The best I’ve seen him bat.

Young player of the series, very well deserved, he managed to fill Kane's shoes!
and proably doesn't get to play in the next one unless Williamson picks up another injury.
They could give Devon the gloves and send him to rebuild his confidence in the middle order. Kane opens (let's face it, he's been basically doing it already), Young at 3 and Rachin at 4. Bye bye Blundell
Devon is probably only the 4th best keeper in today's 11 (ok, not really true if Phillips can't physically stop his knees popping out anymore or whatever his issue is that stopped him keeping).
Also, Rachin is a specialist opener.
There are better options than that crazy tinkering suggested above.
But. Most likely will be Young to 12th man.

So from this series
Sir Matt Henry
Sir Rachin Ravindra
Sir Mitch Santner
Sir Ajaz PatelId chuck in Sir Will Young (player of the series) and even put in a special mention to Glenn Phillips
Scored some valuable runs and took wickets -

That said, I think we should get looking hard at a new keeper

Some of the comments and replies over in Reddit are gold, heres a few of the best ones..
A kiwi whitewash without Kane, no less....
-Did it without Santner in two tests tooBefore the series started, we all knew nothing could stop a 3-0 victory. So sad to see test cricket dying with predictable results such as this
Smh my head, new zealand should stop scheduling series with such minnows just to boost their wtc chances
It was over once Pant went down..
-just like my dates -

@Virgil I was loving the comments about Australia should start producing some turning pitches for as clearly India can’t play spin or even part time spin in test matches.
That series will be most interesting.
India away from home and their confidence will be shot to pieces. Very hard to see much going right for them over there
-
The whole series was a big LOL really
we embarrassed them in the first test with brilliant pace bowling, dismissing them for 46 LOLThey then instruct their groundsmen to prepare a more 'home friendly' spin friendly pitch for the 2nd test..result we belt them harder with Santner wrecking them LOL
They go harder likely behind the scenes demanding something more in their favour for the 3rd test pitch
Result another humiliation as India for the first time ever at home cant chase a sub 200 score at home and lose 0-3 LOL -

I can see them getting hammered by the Aussie seamers on fast bouncy wickets. Could get ugly

does T20 prepare you for that though? My opinion of T20 revised completely after India got up at the Gabba a few years ago with a team of T20 specialists. In some ways you get bouncy, fast pitches with fast bowlers going all out - good prep for Tests in some ways. Yes, this is a hot take.

I don't think they were T20 specialists, just the 'A' team wider squad players. Although, I guess Sundar could be pretty much described as that at that stage, though. Probably was why he was there because of T20 series pre the test series.
India send their 'A' team to the same location as their main test tour (e.g. India A and Aus A are playing a series currently) so they have the best prepared wider squad. The other 2 in the Big3 also have the resources to do this.
It is almost impossible for an Indian player to be a T20 specialist as Finn Allen is doing or the West Indians do. The BCCI refuses to let any Indian players play in the overseas t20 leagues, presumably to protect the IPL's position. So even a Hardik Pandya type probably plays more FC games a year than an NZ plunket shield specialist.

Bloody ripper result, has to be our greatest cricket achievement ever.
Funnily enough I was at an Indian restaurant on Saturday night and they had a tv with the cricket on. I was able to watch the BCs go from 3 down to 9 down in the time it took to eat my Rogan Josh. I mentioned to the waiter who was an avid Indian fan as I was leaving that I am a kiwi and I was pretty happy with what was going to be a 2-1 series win for us. Then didn’t check the result until last night thinking India would have comfortably got the required runs just after lunch some time.
-
I think losing 0-2 would have been an okish result if we at least showed fight.
Losing 1-2 better.
Drawing 1-1 better still.
Winning 2-0 or 2-1 ? Fantasy stuff.
Winning 3-0 ?!?!?!?!?!?!??!
You’re absolutely dreaming.
Don’t wake me up !!!!!!
An absolutely remarkable result.

Favourite sporting memory ever - across all sports
Have to be mine too I think.
I want to go back and find all the comments about a 3 nil whitewash in this thread...
I didn't actually post any of them, but I did concur and am absolutely delighted to have been SOOOOO wrong. Wow. Just fucking WOW.
