More talented team vs a superiorly coached team
-
@Winger Ive had a whole super rugby season to see who the superior player is.
And in 15 minutes that player did more than the other did in 6 games of international rugby.Say what you want about Jordan and limited sample size, what about Jordie? 6 games and completely average if not below average in performance.
-
How the fuk has Jordie started every game? Is he seriously first team calibre now that we cant afford to not play him?
If thats the case, the AB's are in a terrible state. -
Should be Dmac at full back with Clarke/Jordan on the wings.
I feel Jordies eventually going to get moved to the midfield. Doesnt offer enough as an international outside back and not enough pros to keep out the talented outside backs we have available.
Riekos easily our best center. Been in amazing form, aside from the moronic touchdown.

Personal opinion...
I think Mckenzie could be the best 10 in the country if given the chance.
He only got one start at 10 for the AB's where he destroyed the french in one of the most complete performances at fly half. To the point that I believe that game inspired the dual playmaker system because the coaches wanted to get him and Beauden involved regularly touching the ball ('want your best players touching the ball often' something along those lines from a Hansen quote at the time).
This all fell apart when Mckenzie got injured in 2019 and they had to migrate that to Mounga/Beauden with Beauden going from 3 years at 10 to jumping in at fullback in a world cup year.
Or maybe I'm remembering everything wrong and I'm a moron.
Either way, I'd like to see Mckenzie get a shot at 10 with the AB pack in front of him.
-
@Chris Like when he was the only attacking threat against England at twickenham 2018 end of year tour where he destroyed them?
Or when he destroyed the Springboks in south africa in his first rugby championship? Which bigger/physical teams are you talking about? I've heard this statement repeated even though its been refuted consistently.

Jordan needs to start next game. Jordie really was average today and is lucky that opportunist try will convince most he is an adequate test winger (he had the angle and was nearly caught by the aussie winger who had to cover a much larger distance, i believe nearly all of our backs would have scored in that position.)
-
Can you believe we've kept this guy on the bench for JORDIE HAHAHHA
-
@Canes4life Amazing how out of position Jordan can fill in fine on the wing. Jordie is the biggest imposter ive ever seen in international rugby.
If he played every game at fullback in this tournament he wouldve had the same level of performance as he has on the wing.
At least Dmac has performances at international level to point to prove he can play there.

Thanks, I'm pretty amazing.
How many times did he meekly turn the ball over or completely destroy any attacking play whilst losing ground? He played exactly the way he's played all year - makes the odd break or two if others put him away, but more often than not runs across field completely killing any of his teammates opportunities.I can genuinely only remember one mistake which was the pass to ground, other than that he was consistently putting other players in open space as well as creating opportunities for himself.
There is clear bias involved here if you think his game today was 'utter shit'. He was easily top 5 on the north team. If he was utter shit today, literally 25/30 other players on the pitch must be abysmal to you.

Don't think Roane or Aoane did themselves any favours today. Reiko had a couple of nice touches though and was still the best 13 on display.
Awesome to see Sotutu step up with ease. What can't he do?
How many pens and fuck ups from Ardie?
DMac is just utter shit.
Nice to see ALB get a little bit of form back.
A Smith didn't have his greatest game.
Ridiculous take

Good chat.
He was involved in 3 of the 5 north tries. Easily one of the norths best today. Amazing how you got 'utter shit' from that.

Yeah sorry for not going back and citing all the incidents. I'll probably do a rewatch but not immediately after on a Saturday morning.
Awesome, looking forward to the report.

@Donsteppa Yes winning a turnover and getting a freakish ricochet not going your way means its a deadshit move...mental

Btw I dont see how Jordie is any more solid than any other player in the backline to take care of the 14 position which is apparently bombarded by the opposition kicking. There seems to be this fallacy where people see a player with limited attacking ability and therefore assume he must be solid and safe with other areas in the game.
Ben Smith was our safest player as well as one of our most dangerous ball in hand. Beauden with all his flair is just as solid under the high ball.
-
I genuinely feel Dmac is our best 10 potentially..even though I feel that experiment doesnt seem anywhere near currently..
BB has been out of form since 2017, Mounga hasn't been bad but I just think Dmac offers a higher ceiling. Hopefully he gets a full season at 10 for the Chiefs.
