Nonu far too often mailed it in playing Super Rugby - his spot was largely guaranteed at Second First Five for majority of his career
He was a tiger for the ABs and a pussycat for Landers, Canes
To be fair he fronted up for the Blues

I'll intend to listen to podcast in full over the weekend
SGH typifies New Zealand Rugby Unique Selling Point:
Coaching
His work with Wales, ABs, Blues, Leinster and Los Pumas was spectacular
Only guy I hod in as much respect is Wayne Smith

but 2019 I was more angry, it pissed me off the most , we were putrid , no excuses , wasnt a choke , their form leading in was up and down,
England turned up with a plan to beat us , and we looked clueless , and the worst part - soft
2019 is way down on worst RWC Exits
ABs were convincingly beaten Out-coached & outclassed English dynamism and intensity was of a different nature
Remember watching ABs play Pumas and not score a single point in the 2nd half was the 1st time I suspected ABs were a diminishing force
At least compared to others iterations who had dominated all others from 2008-2015
That's too light
I'd have Clarke sin binned Reckless plays like that piss me off
No chance of preventing a try being scored Attacking player is exposed & can't defend themselves
Good player but really want to sign him for 2021 as well

Those 10 team comp options are terrible.
Why can’t they get it through their heads that a simple, logical and non biased comp is what people want to see.Not playing the same teams an equal amount of times was one of the major flaws of the failed Super rugby expansion comps. Fuck. This is going to be a disaster.
Can't see a 8 team competition being financially viable. A 10 or 12 team competition looks more realistic.
Only way an 8 team comp would be viable is with a home & away format 14 regular season games with a bye week attached = 15 week season with 2 weeks added for SF + Grand Final
Start season in March 2021 with Grand Final in Mid June 2021
Moreover the original revamped Super Rugby was to have 14 teams play in a round robin format = 13 games
Nonu is on another stratosphere to Laumape
Laumape is a very good player
Nonu is an all time great player
Nonu is on the Mount Rushmore of ABs in the Professional Era along the likes of Carter and McCaw
Tend to agree All this PI team chat seems to be pie in the sky nonsense
I'd much rather have more PI players in a TT comp in addition to World Rugby helping fund Tours to the PI
Get to stay with their family and wider community as well
That's a big concern
To set up a PI based team in the context of Post Covid environment is brutal Moreseo when the quality of NZ teams is so high
Unless there were exceptions such as higher salary cap & other inducements, PI team would be on a hiding to nothing
Below story is an ominous example of challenges that lay ahead
I don't get your point...

That’s actually a really good idea. The Japanese national team would actually be a quality addition to the competition.
This PI team that is getting floated is either going to draw all it’s players from existing Super rugby teams, which is stupid, or it will be severely under strength but filled with PI local talent with the odd NH returnee. No way the guys on big bucks up North will come back in significant numbers for the chance to play for much less $$.
Seen alot of chat about a PI team but don't get the appeal or sense
Better to have a 10 team TT comp Each team has Fijian, Tongan & Samoan player in matchday 23
30 players getting high level footy off the bat
Have World Rugby chip with paying the salary
Japs involvement also seems another dead on arrival proposition Top League will not let idea succeed just like Sunwolves Multinational companies pay big $$$ for their players
Jaguares showed Japs how to do things....
I want Japan & Fiji in expanded Rugby Championships

@antipodean and that why i said 'pipe dream'.
The same pipe dream that had Argentina play SR...
The obvious difference being Argentina didn't have a thriving club competition awash with cash.
Argentina is unique amongst Tier 1 nation, in that its best Club competitions are Amateur. Biggest one being URBA based in Buenos Aires
Moreover the UAR has encouraged its played to head overseas
Likes of Kremer, Petti, Orlando etc have already left Jaguares
Quesada gone to Stade Francais
