A couple of interesting rumors doing the rounds.Fruean is not wanted by Philpott and Lee but the ceo wants to sign him for this season and Shannon Chase was given the rounds of the kitchen by his club coach due to poor form recently.

<p>Damn Buckman is a huge loss.I think they will have to buy a few in.I dont think we can cover all the losses with just locals,especially at the top level.</p>

<p>I had the pleasure of seeing former HB contracted player, Marvan Karawana, in action in club rugby in Wellington today. I'm pleased to set everyones mind at rest to confirm he is still playing at practically the same level he showed for HB. A couple of beautiful missed tackles that resulted in tries being conceded were most reassuring. Hopefully he will continue to impress the Wellington selectors enough to be retained, especially for the cross over pool match  when Championship level Wellington take on Premiership level Hawkes Bay!</p>

<p> Dearns Will be a big loss,imo.The importance of strength and conditioning coaches is often underrated,imo.Hopefully they spend the money to get a good replacement.</p>

<p>Brighouse might be a bit out of luck trying to learn off Brendan O'Connor.Interesting they have brought in a young loosie,perhaps Renton may not be as good as they thought?</p>

<p>I don't know what you mean by Renton and Cridge continuing to improve. Neither have played for the best part of two seasons thus there is no base to start any improvement comparison from.<br><br>
I remain, as always, available for selection (reservations over the Head Coach's attributes not withstanding, but struggled to hold down a spot in my Presies Grade team this season so not holding any great expectations), provided my choice of preferred footwear does not conflict with any commercial arrangements the HBRFU may have in place</p>

<p>Thats why I said possibly,because it is hard to judge what level they will be at next season and whether they can be used in the itm cup or new signings needed.</p>

<p>O'Connor will be very hard to replace by far the best loosie we have had in recent years.Hopefully a fully fit Evans and Renton would negate the loss of Stanley.</p>

<p>Ive got a feeling Eaton may retire,hence the signing of Webber.I dont know if we will need huge amounts of new signings if the likes of Emmerson,Lowe, Waqa and possibly Renton and Cridge continue to improve.</p>
