The Australian Team - especially in the forwards - looked stronger & better skilled. Their 16yr old loosehead monstered our tighthead at scrum time towards the end of the 1st half. Skill wise - & again I'm looking at the forwards - we were a long way behind Australia. It would be easy to point the finger at Paul Tito (Coach) but i think it's a wake up call for those involved in First XV Programs around the country. Give the NZ U18s Team a better coached player.
NZs Best - Saumaki Saumaki, Cohen Norrie, Siale Pahulu.
Australia - Kingsley Uys, Heinz Lemoto, Angus Grover, Eli Langi. -
@Donsteppa I'm more interested in finding out who's in charge of conditioning... This person needs their credentials checked.
-
@cgrant agreed. De Groot reminded me of Nepo Laulala flattening out all the time. Razor lost momentum throwing him back in. Should've started Williams IMO. And yes Lomax was gassed. Why are they running him past the Red Line...no faith in Tosi? or their back-up THs.

Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta. A solid loosie/lock - he'd be handy.

The likes of Highlanders lock Pari Pari Parkinson and NZ Sevens star Rocky Khan both repeated year 13 and played 1st XV again, before going on to play professionally.
was PPP still under 19s when he repeated Y13? Hate to think St Kents got dispensation to play a 6'8" 19 yr old

Expect plenty of year 13 players to think about returning in 2021.
whats the rule for guys turning 19 next year?

I had to google the name of Dom Devine, as I didn't know who he was, and found the article below. Interesting, because if I'm right, we still need a prop to replace Tavita-Metcalfe (and another back):
he had a young Hoskins Sotutu in that same U15 squad at Sacred Heart
-
@Bovidae he was part of that Star-studded Marist line-up back in the day. Brooke brothers, T. Wright, J. Kirwan etc...it was 1 too many choirboys in the Auckland team for some.
-
@Tim loved Stensness too. My mates fkn hated him...Senseless they'd call him. You maybe to young for Graeme Thorne but think Inga Tuigamala as a white man.
-
@Tim I couldn't think of any fb before pro rugby. Ridge didn't have enough games for mind. Forgot bout Lindsay..fullback during the mid 80s
-
@Crucial 1 S.McDowell 2 Fitzy 3. O. Brown 4. A.Haden 5. G. Whetton 6. A. Whetton 7. M. Jones 8. Z. Brooke 9. Lin Colling 10. G. Fox 11. BG. Williams 12. Graeme Thorne 13. J. Stanley 14. JK 15. Pat Walsh.

@nzzp was 22/23 at the time. Olo had alot of press about him in his last year at college. So I was rapt to have a crack. Was written up as a monster so I was surprised he was same size as me-5'11 17 odd stone. An absolute rock at scrum time.
-
@nzzp went up against him in his first year at Ponies. Preferred TH but was loose that day. Couldn't buckle the 19yr old straight outta MAGs.
-
@nzzp had to be a TH with that pic😀
-
Prop played both sides but preferred tight head. Auck Club mid 80s heydey.
-
@taniwharugby ah, thats long enough to lose the import tag - i noticed a few import accusations being tossed about in chat on the livestream.
