Not going to make any judgements until the 2nd round against the Blues. If it’s a cricket score it’s going to be another frustrating season of getting slaughtered by NZ teams. Won’t have the luxury of picking off under strength Aussie teams with the significantly stronger squads they have this year

@Dan54 makes you question the quality of the coaching Jordie is getting in NZ.....
I think Jordie needs a Rennie style coach - like when SBW moved to the Chiefs from the Crusaders and improved his game playing a more direct style.
Either Jordie can use his big frame or he can't, I'm unsure at the moment because I'm not sure that's what he's been instructed to do or if he even wants to play that style. Sometimes he looks like he's doing it, then other time he looks as awkward as he used to look at fullback.
I not convinced Jordie was bad as some indicated lest year anyway.. Funnily enough the style he playing doesn't seem to be any more direct, more what's impressed me is his finding people in space to to pass to. He is part of setting up tries etc. Also looks to be talking/ setting defence a fair bit. I thought that was generally a strength of his was being busy on defence, and him and Billy Proctor especially for Canes I thought went well.
Not sure what is coaching etc, or Jordie just maore relaxed in style of Leinster, I not really smart enough to work all that out.
Tend to think maybe @Kiwiwomble has a point, I do suspect players do often gain a bit playing in different style of rugby. Are they giving him more space and time to do his thing?
No not seemingly. He hasn't had more room that I noticed, just seems to be timing runs well, or what I have noticed seems real busy, but he finding players running off him, or finding them in space. Can't really put finger on one thing.
It’s because he doesn’t have an epileptic ferret playing inside him. Jordie has been brilliant at Leinster because he’s playing in a functional backline. Get McKenzie and Barrett out of 10 and someone who can actually engage the line AND pass and he’ll flourish, just as he in Leinster.
You mean a 10 that can make space for his outsides, instead of taking it all for himself?

Right, finally time to engage with rugby again. Do I dare get any hopes up at all for this season. Some relatively good news, apparently Haig will be more 4-6 weeks rather than 10
-
Well anyone watching J Barrett’s debut for Leinster, turns out he can pass. Must help not having an epileptic dog on roller skates and someone who can pass on his inside

@ACT-Crusader the lack of reward for the scrum
Dominance is annoying me the most -

Which Hurricanes player is going to score next?
All of them, I hope
It would make up for bottling the semi final

Cant see close up action. On the other hand can see the way the game is being played. NZ are very organised on both attack and defence. More so than the French who look a little short of ideas when attacking.
Roigard is having a great game. His sniping threat is great. BB is also playing well. The forwards are really manning up on defence. Losses seem to be working well as a trio. Hope Finau is ok he looked liked a punch drunk boxer walking off.
I’m sticking with my midweek prediction. NZ to win by 15 with the bench making a difference.
The bench front row should come on and annihilate the French scrum

@Machpants hey hey it’s our year next year

It's fucked up listening to a pom and a potato cheerleading France
The short man syndrome O’Driscoll has is nuts. Was a good player in possibly the worst era of NH rugby.

There’s a few moments on an attack where they look disgustingly slick. Some dumb decisions ruin it but you can see where Robertsons trying to take them

The lack of reward for the scrum is getting ridiculous

How the fuck is that not a penalty

Orgasmic

Just. Moment to appreciate how perfect Reikos defence was there post turnover
-
Might be a blessing in disguise. Finau’s first involvement was falling over a ruck
