Faketava is a hell of a player, everything he did was top class, all black in waiting that’s for sure
-
@taniwharugby well deserved in my opinion, been very consistent and think he offers more than George bridge
-
Wow. Big surprise for me is no hodgeman ,pita gus sawakula and no umaga jenson brothers .
Also I like the fact that Levi aumua is picked ,I’ve been very impressed with him and Ruben love is going to be some player -
Got to say it’s the best I’ve seen josh goodhue play,he was into everything. Close behind I thought was Sam nock who has impressed this season
For otago I thought josh timu and umaga jenson both played very well and nareki looked very dangerous -
Suprised no Kara pryer as I think he been playing really well
-
@victor-meldrew would like to see more of Peter umaga jenson aswell

@sparky But we need a 2nd five and Goodhue has played center mainly for the AB’s so who will he displace?. We need a genuine 2nd 5. Goodhue might not be any where near the player he was before. He was beaten for pace at center prior to his injury.
I know I’ve said this before but Peter umaga jenson should be in the squad in my opinion. Has the size and pace and runs nice lines

Akira has to start at 6 and whitelock back at lock and fainganuku out completely for Will Jordan and mounga for Barrett
-
Could be the worst looking crusaders team I’ve ever seen!
No idea what to do when they get the ball,
Way they are looking maybe go all super rugby season without getting a win -

Who are our young and promising locks? There doesn't seem to be too many coming through. Was somewhat impressed with Louisi this year, especially the game he had against the Lions. Apart from him, can't think of any other young lock that has stood out this year.
I thought Louisi was very good actually! Much better than I thought he would be. Quentin strange looks a very good player also but could do with bulking up

Who else is starting to get really nervous about the Boks? They have so many class young players coming through atm, arguably even more than we do. Definite contenders for the WC next year.
I agree! Some very good young players.
Especially the backs -

@chris-b good spot, potential welcome back to Mr Saili. Well worth the deal.

Patrick tuipolotu is ill and replaced on the bench by tupou vai’i

@bovidae said in Is Umaga doing a good job?:
Captaincy seems to be the kiss of death at the Blues. Parsons is playing better now without that burden, and Kaino isn't a captain. If we are being honest JK made no impact when he came on, even considering it was his first game of the season. Tupou isn't good enough to make the starting XV. I thought Pulu played well last week so I wouldn't be writing him off just yet.
On the otherhand, Cane and Whitelock seem made for the role. Both play the full 80 mins too.
I think Blake Gibson could make a good captain when fit. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and leads by example
-
No Josh timu? I thought he played very well for otago, very unlucky I think
-
Would love to see tom Robinson in the squad.
Weber to replace fakatava I think and de groot for tuuinukuafe and also fletcher newell for ofa tuungafasi
I may be tempted aswell to get grace in there as well but not sure who to drop -
I’m very happy with most of the squad named but I personally would not have picked tuuinukuafe and I would have gone for de groot
Whitelock seems to be on the slide quickly and I would have gone for Luke Jacobson a extra back rower
Other one change I would have left havili out for Thomas umaga jenson although I understand he may be injured -
@mackerzzzz I think on form David havili has to be in the squad and should probably play against Fiji
