On that topic, it is lovely to watch Jordie showing what he really can offer - after a tough ABs season of pretty much exclusively running hard straight lines with Rieko on his shoulder doing the exact same thing, his distribution was not something that shone through

@darylmitchell would you think this is the likely shuffle? Given the log jam at 10, would any of trask, jacomb or dmac be relocated to 15? Not sure how much time trask or jacomb have spent at 15 tbf

The ruck defense was one of the most frustrating parts of the game. We were constantly watching them wrestle and disrupt our ball as we had only committed one cleaner & one man at best to lock down the ruck, making it terribly difficult for Roigard to clear the ball. This was the same issue that we had against Ireland which i believe made it appear that Ratima had a bad game - when in reality he was having to tidy up loose/disrupted ball at the back of the ruck.
Why cant we seem to adjust to this in game?

@reprobate Yep agreed, though if im a young guy trying to make it and i get told its 15 or the bench, id be picking up the 15 jersey to be fair.
I think thats the reason its been so hard to get young 10s breaking through, NPC coaches seem to rely on their journeymen 10s to organise their backlines and the opportunities dont get given to the young 10s as much as they are to say flankers, wingers etc. So they end up playing out of position to get game time.

@Canes4life Yeah a real beaudie/dmac archetype 10. Its a shame he didnt spend much time at 10 for magpies, but will be good to see him build his game management skills in the coming seasons if he does get committed to the 10 jersey. I think he has a bit more of a playmaker sense to him than ruben love.

@Canes4life Yip Higgins offload game is what really sets him apart. Strong body and good pace but his ability to free up the ball is amazing.

@cgrant Agreed. Heard something about Manson is committed to the Utah team for the foreseeable? Im sure the landers would love to snag him

@Canes4life honestly cant say ive watched too many Otago games this year, was more a reflection on Sotutu

I rate it, Sotutu gave nothing in that quarter final against wellington. The guy needs to show some ticker and get stuck in, most other AB or ABXV stand out pretty clearly at NPC level even in poorer teams

Nervous and excited to see what the squad ends up looking like. Front rowers, loose forwards, half backs and midfield pretty sorted. Need some 10s and wingers.
Wondering if we could see Bailyn Sullivan used outwide this season. Honestly still think that guy could still break out a bit more. His stiff arm on RTS to set up Ardie for that game winner still etched in my mind.
