That tackle was a bad combination of dangerous and slightly lazy.

That's a silly review for LBW from Henry, Santner, and Latham. Bowling over the wicket to a left hander, that line was always pitching outside leg.

Probably inevitable, but still gutted. Our junior numbers are up by 34 overall since the start of the 23/24 summer, and girls numbers have about doubled. Free to air coverage of mens and womens games has definitely helped.

Partly because you don't really need them in a cricket team. Nice to have, sure, but it's not like Steve Waugh's Australian team was desperate for a #6 who could roll the arm over a bit.

It's like tight forwards who can kick. Great, sure, whatever, but especially these days its a bit redundant if everyone else does their job.

Watching that innings from Mitchell Owen reminded me of a few years ago - when the youngest innocently asked why "they don't just hit lots of sixes?"

From a Black Caps perspective, Conway's got the downsides of the guys who've opted to take the money for franchise cricket leagues when it suits, and he's got none of the technical upsides of a Kane Williamson.

In Conway's case - I'll still take it in a heart beat if he wins us the final - but at this stage of selections I'd rather we erred on the side of a guy who really wants to be there instead.
