That tackle was a bad combination of dangerous and slightly lazy.

That's a silly review for LBW from Henry, Santner, and Latham. Bowling over the wicket to a left hander, that line was always pitching outside leg.
-
Probably inevitable, but still gutted. Our junior numbers are up by 34 overall since the start of the 23/24 summer, and girls numbers have about doubled. Free to air coverage of mens and womens games has definitely helped.

Sleepy as fuck from the Chiefs there, not getting reorganised

Mitchell with a horror shot to match 10 (24).

Tahs not keen to make any tackles there. Nicely worked.

There goes Scotty already.
Good to see he's learnt nothing over summer...

The sort of round where tipping all results right, or tipping all results wrong feels equally possible...

@ploughboy Yeah, that's possible. He is part of the Chiefs family and they've said he would be welcomed back.
Maybe after a break he might want to get back into the saddle and prove he can coach at Super level.
Didn't he so that before and was found wanting?
Yep, that's my point, he might want to prove he can succeed at Super.
His winless season might scare teams off
I'd like to upvote this several times...

Genuine all rounders are pretty rare still.
Partly because you don't really need them in a cricket team. Nice to have, sure, but it's not like Steve Waugh's Australian team was desperate for a #6 who could roll the arm over a bit.
It's like tight forwards who can kick. Great, sure, whatever, but especially these days its a bit redundant if everyone else does their job.
Spoken like a fan of a national side that almost always has six top batters, four great bowlers, and a good keeper available

Watching that innings from Mitchell Owen reminded me of a few years ago - when the youngest innocently asked why "they don't just hit lots of sixes?"
What a stage to play a legendary innings like that on.

Biggest local cricketing news of the week. @MN5's favourite cricketer visits @mariner4life's old club at Fergusson Park.

They should put a grandstand and lights up at Blake Park and solve the problem sensibly. The Tauranga Domain is a very poor venue
I wonder if that will follow in the next few years, especially with the field realignment and the Play Centre moving, etc.

From a Black Caps perspective, Conway's got the downsides of the guys who've opted to take the money for franchise cricket leagues when it suits, and he's got none of the technical upsides of a Kane Williamson.
In Conway's case - I'll still take it in a heart beat if he wins us the final - but at this stage of selections I'd rather we erred on the side of a guy who really wants to be there instead.

At first glance I don't think that was Virat's call...

Virat is turning into an ageing pantomime villain.

Well, Konstas is going to either be a raging success, or an abject failure. No middle ground likely...

6 and out, & 4 and out. So cliched, and yet also so Finn Allen.

Seems interesting to throw the new kid under the bus so quickly, while still keeping the likes of Marnus, Khawaja, and Marsh on series form.
