Take the tackle bro. FFS.
Brumbies deserved victors but jeez that break looked like a golden opportunity.
Chiefs will deal to the Brumbies next week.

Went back about 2 meters but anyway. Canes not good enough tonight.
The problem is that there is an air of inevitably whenever Brumbies have ball in Canes half.
Good night all.
The backs joining were offside.
Ball had not cleared the line of touch.

Thats what you do when you have an advantage , you back your handling skills to do the business
As opposed to a stupid kick that comes off rarely.
I agree completely.
2 soft tries to start off the game.
Hurricanes look a bit timid for some reason.

So both these teams will be back next week and the Brumbies - Hurricanes becomes a genuine knock out. The winner will have a home semi final.
Last sentence is not accurate. Semis will still be in CHCh and Hamilton.
Damn that was a great game. Enjoyed that immensely.
Makes the next game worth watching as well which is a bonus.
Chiefs look great. Ominous signs.

Reece scores a try after halftime but can he actually pick the ball up from that position? Feet in front of the ball, not part of the ruck 🤔
If he's part of the ruck he can't play it with his hands anyway can he?
Yes but I don't think he was bound.
I didn't see it. Was the ball in-goal already when he played it?
EDIT
OK I just went back and watched it. I think he's offside with feet in front of the ball but it's always let go.
Crusaders looking a bit flat. Also can't kick any goals.
Referee had a shocker in awarding a PK when a guy turned around and deliberately threw the ball into someone stand 2 metres directly behind the ruck. Ref needed to shrug his shoulders and allow that to continue in my opinion.
Chapman top scorer then Extras with a handy knock. Not much else from anyone else.
All a bit disappointing really.
Also disappointing is the summer and the lack of cricket this year. That is it for the home summer apparently.

Two of the most maligned NZ cricketers needing to manage the rebuild. I've slapped a cheeky $50 on Braces to top score.
There’s some beer money gone
Indeed. That's punting though. Stoked to see Chapman look so good.
Chapman almost always looks amazing when he's in and playing classical shots. He's a very gifted cricketer.
If he gets us out of this I won't ever doubt him again.

Looks like we'll have a score to chase today
I hope so. Be good to see a big chase for us in the evening. I want to win but I also want to be entertained.
We should have scored another 30 or 40.
On the other hand at this stage it looks like enough.
Very typical Chapman innings there. Good 50 and then gets out softly.
Good stuff from these Chapman and Ravindra. Chapman looks a million bucks as he often does until he gets out meekly. This could be his chance to go on and get a really big one

@Damo they chased 324 on the last day at the Gabba in 21. I gave them no charge at the time. T20 had affected teams ability to score quickly for sustained periods

That's fair but it doesn't change my thinking. If India have a great day they could do it I suppose. Would be a remarkable effort under pressure.
If Australia want to win then they may need to risk losing.

Australia have taken the win out of reach. I can't see India chasing down 333 in Day 5 of a test in Melbourne. But can they last out 90 overs without losing all ten wickets? All the pressure is on India.
Quick slog for Goat and ScoBo tomorrow morning. Literally get India in the field and guessing about the declaration.
If we last long enough, declare halfway through Bumrah's 1st or 2nd over for the day and put them in.
We'll lose half an hour but it could be mentally useful.
I think it's less useful than having more overs with the second new ball. Every over used up is an over leas they will have after the 80 overs and they can take the new ball.
Declaration overnight means they don't lose 2 overs for the change in innings. That's what I would do.
As I understand the position, India's chance of winning is slim to none and Aussie really need to win this game. If India can chase down 333 on day 5 that will be a great effort but I don't see it as something to fear.
