Australia v India

Solid ferning boys, not a single post about cricket
-
Jesus wept.
All that stolen ICC money by the big3 has to go somewhere, I guess.
We can't afford A tours, and have reduced the Plunket Shield season by 20 %. Meanwhile in Big3land there's such a thing as a professional 'throw down specialist '.
From cricinfo commentary:
Meanwhile Al Muthu has some breaking news at the Gabba: "Little bit of drama before play up here. Nuwan Seneviratne, the Sri Lankan throwndown specialist who travels with the Indian team, has been hit on the right side of the head/neck region with a cricket ball. He's sitting up now, with paramedics looking in on him. Has an icepack on as he walks off the field. When it happened, it looked nasty. He went to the floor straight away. Spent possibly 10 or so minutes with the players and the India physio checking on him. The injury happened as Seneviratne was helping India practice slip catching and two balls came at him. He was able to get out of the way of one but not the other."

That's a paid professional thing? It's usually parents near the boundary...

Or Stead

Waj goes fishing without moving his feet.
Not sure anything will matter given its monsoon season in Brisvegas will likely see more rain than play
-
Fucking ordinary from McSweeney - never hitting the stumps. No positivity in the foot movement or the hands
-
Marnus gets impatient. Dumb fuck
-
Siraj off the field with an injury - stopped bowling mid over
-
India's session IMHO.
3 wickets for under 100 runs
-
Getting ready for Indian cries of DRS being racist
-
Definitely our session with 130 runs and no wickets.
Head with a ton and Smith getting runs.
The weather might make it all pointless, but good work in general.
-
India should move on both Ashwin and Jadeja and play Washington Sundar as their spinner.
-
Smith's first ton in 18 months after a very lean 2024 where his average was in the 20s

I thought you’d have better taste after staying with me in NZ
I think that's what's called an oxymoron...
-
Bumrah has no help but still gets wickets - what a player
-
Aussies playing for a draw when you look at the weather forecast.
Unless India crumble with the bat.
-
Cummins taking to a few people in the shed. Rain is back so might be time to declare
-
Wonder if Sharma understands the value of field placings
Starc gets Jaiswal 2nd ball with a not standard catcher forward of square leg
Jaiswal now 6-92 against left arm pace
-
FMD what a catch
Starc is India's Daddy
-
What made that catch was the early recognition and movement. Got into position so early to be able to get 2 hands to it
-

yep watching the batsmens feet movement and ball off the bat early gives you early recognition where the you need to be to meet the ball.
-
-
India doing their level best to make this a contest despite the fact we'll probably only get another four sessions.
Superb tourists.
-
Disappointing that the wicket-rain-wicket-rain cycle has been broken.
-
Radar looks shit - blowing in from the SE tending East and a big bunch of shit coming in off the coast
-
The Gabba test was usually the first of the season, in November.
Cricket Australia took cash to move it, and now we're basically in monsoon season. Well done.
Sydney isn't much better of late, having a shit record in early January

Kohli gone chasing a fairly full delivery from Hoff that he really didn't have to.
In terms of standards compared to their Fab Four Beatles counterparts Kohli is DEFINITELY Ringo.

Ugly, but still alive?
-
Cummins is some bowler.
India in real trouble again. -
Inexplicable drop by Smith let KL Rahul off tho. Might pay for that as he can hang around
-
Gets him eventually. With an amazing catch of course from Smith
-
Australia are quite good at cricketing
-
They're literally playing in front of nobody. Where is the crowd? Past test series when India are playing on Aussie shores the stadium is bursting at the seams.

6000 in apparently. Most of them Indian.
Brisbane sucks.
-
Welp, short of a miracle, that's the game
I blame Smith's drop on ball 1 today, and some confounding fielding placements in the last hour
-
Bad light makes no sense with the way the Indian tail enders were playing. Tidying up a few rules like that could make a big difference.

Just hit Cummins for 6.
Two balls later: bad light.
At least finish the over FFS

Scheduling issue. Who'd give up a day to sit around with predictable rain breaks?

And higher than normal humidity yesterday too.

Cracking effort by the indian 11 and Bumrah to get past the followon. Should ice the game unless Australia go for a very sporting declaration.
