A little birdie tells me Tamaiti Williams, the ABs’ prop, will play club Rugby in Dunedin tomorrow
Would be interesting to see if this is true because he has also been listed on the bench for his Burnside club in the Canterbury Metro
-
he is not named in the kaik team
-
-
Sevu Reece is playing for Sumner today.
George Bell and Fletcher Newell for Lincoln Uni -
-
@SouthernMann one team is going to be upset. Hopefully Burnside.
-
Williams is not listed on the Otago community page

That was updated before the Kaik Facebook was.

Can confirm he’s playing for Burnside today.

Williams and his partner had a premature baby, and it appears she was born in Dunedin so is probably still in hospital down there.

Yes this is known news and a couple months old.
Yes he is down there regularly. He spent a lot of time down there during the season while he was injured too. Like I said above, he is playing club rugby in Christchurch today. He plays at my club so I’ll be down there.

I didn't say it was new news. At least one person on this thread was wondering aloud why Williams would be in Dunedin. I offered a likely explanation as to why. That's all.

Yeah mate. Didn’t mean for it to across like that, was just stating incase people weren’t aware that it’s a couple months old.
The old classic message coming across the wrong way on the fern haha.

Ardie Savea played 50 minutes for the Ories.

Ritchie Mounga has been helping out and training with his Linwood club in Christchurch the last 3 weeks good to see him around his club.
-
@Chris i do love hearing stuff like that, seems like such an easy win to get down and do some stuff with your old club. Back in the day Taine Randell was often seen down at Dunedin even if not playing

A growth area in Counties club rugby is women's rugby. Only one team, Manurewa in the Auckland Premier grade but in the Development grade the four Counties teams finished 1 to 4. The winners Patumahoe qualified fourth.

Semi final day down in Dunedin. Green Island finished top after round robin, and are facing a pretty hot Southern side looking for three championships on the trot. Southern have been building well, especially after the return of Jack Leslie at 10. Green Island will be wanting Finn Hurley to be heavily involved from the back. Big Oli Haig will.be coming off the bench.
Dunedin will be playing Varsity in the second semi. I reckon the winner of this will tip up Southern in the final. Dunedin has a better front row with Vaka and Wingham. Varsity has better locks with Tinnock and Aho. Palmer for Dunedin is quality, just has redhead problems. In the backs, Varsity will be focusing their attack around Umaga-Jensen at centre. Jeremiah Asi will ne making his return after a long injury lay off as well. While the young Dunedin back three of the two Southland contracted players Tayne Harvey and Augustine, as well as Otago injury replacement Kyan Rangitutia should cause issues.
I'm picking a Dunedin v Southern final. Repeat of 2023. Bearing in mind this pick is made from my lounge in the Hutt Valley, on the back of reading and watching club footy write ups and videos. -
SFs in Waikato club rugby as well. Marist (1) vs Hamilton OB (4), and Varsity (2) vs Hautapu (3). I will go and watch the latter game although both games are to be played only a few hundred metres from each other. Roe (HOB) is the only regular SR player involved.

Will be a Green Island and Dunedin Sharks final in Dunedin. Finn Hurley featured strongly on the Green Island scoresheet. Will be some good match ups in the final.
