Cricket 2021: NZ in England and WTC Final

What are we thinking?
Quickfire 120, set them 300 to win in say 80 overs?
-
I asked this on day one.
Does me going to bed result in a wicket (as it invariably does if the opposition are batting...
... fuck Latho dropped! ...
)
Or does it mean I miss awesome NZ batting?

I'm going to take a punt on the latter.
Good luck all.
See you on the other side.

PS shot Roscoe!

fark, he makes it look easy. One of our all time greats
Edit: and an astonishingly poor runner for someone with as many runs as he has

I guess so. I'd have settled for batting practice. Then again, no championship points on this so why not practice trying to squeeze out a win?
Good challenge and a great no fear attitude. Cool👍
Unless it's just Rossco trying to bash himself into form.

I'll take that

Unless it's just Rossco trying to bash himself into form.I think we go hard. A test win is a test win regardless of WTC. It also gives more players a go if we lose a few wickets.

Ross just went 'ping'. Great strike

That is also why umpires call is bullshit.
-
That Latham hoik must indicate we're setting a target...I hope

Untill it works for us😉
At least we don't lose a review i guess

I really didn't put that well. If we use tech, we use it. Out is out. Whatever the umpire has said I don't think is as accurate as the tech.
-
Looks we are thinking about having a go at this
-
@siam said in Cricket 2021: NZ in England and WTC Final:
@snowy you mean just dispense with the margin of error consideration? Fair enough. Would that mean tv review of every decision though? Again, no argument from me but it'd take time
Yes to the reviews from teams or umps. Not every decision.
Also yes to the game position.

@voodoo bat for one session, use 2 to roll them i guess
Will be fun whatever the result!
-
Set them 300+ to win. Lots more cloud today so the ball will swing.
Possibility of rain and dodgy light this afternoon that might come to England's rescue:
-
@siam said in Cricket 2021: NZ in England and WTC Final:
@snowy we'd have to review every single appeal though wouldn't we?
Sub continent.....?
I edited that for clarity. Not every decision. Just the reviews.
-
England's ridiculous review earlier cost them a review which would have been successful.
-
I would have put in De Grandhomme ahead of Watling.

Yep. We don't need to bat for time, just runs, to have a crack at a win. We can shut up shop if we need to and BJ would be the man if CDG has failed. If it worked we could be on for a win.
-
Taylor gone 133 for 5. Lead 236.
-
Lead up to 252.
-
Fragile looking England batting line up. Heavy cloud cover. 5th day pitch. I think England are in for a tough 60 overs or so.
-
Umbrellas out. Light rain at Lords.
-
Nicholls out for 23. Skied a reverse sweep. 159 for 6. Lead of 262.
-
I do wish that they would have a proper go. Nobodies going to blame you for getting out. We are pretty safe.
-
Big hitting from big Colin!
-
Covers on. Players off. Early lunch.
-
Yes, thanks Col. Read my post.
-
169 for 6. Lunch. Lead of 272.
-
Annoying as Colin had just got one out of the middle.
-
75 over left in the day, although they will lose 2 for the declaration.
Black Caps probably can't quite declare yet. Probably need another 5 to 10 overs. England's slow bowling rate and the 10th innings partnership looking crucial at the moment.
