NBA 2015/16 thread

Q2 thunder moving the ball and looking good. Waiters feeding the role players, especially Kanter cashing in. They need to keep spreading the ball and making the extra pass to win
-
Draymond Green tries to rip Steven Adam's arm out of the socket and drags him on top, slamming his head into the court. Jeez he's a dirty bastard
-

..having an extended lunch break and really enjoying the game. Never really watched BBall before outside of Oz v NZ, its a great watch, nice having a NZ link in there

-

What a game. Intense as ever. OKC lead 48-42 at the half. Klay started to hit something in that 2nd quarter. He's the key man for the Warriors.

KD pretty quiet so far in terms of looking for his shot. He will no doubt come out in the 2nd half looking to be really aggressive. Russ playing a fair bit of iso and looked rushed on a number of his shots.
-
OKC trying their hardest to let GSW steal the game. As good as they shared the ball, selfish decisions by Westbrook are letting the pressure off
-

Well this game is pretty much done. GSW just live by the 3 pointer.

Gutted for OKC
-

One of the better reverse jinxes so far this year. -
Not out of it yet BSG. -

Nah, they are done.

Every time OKC get close, GSW throw up a bad shot that turns into a made 3.
-
You're not wrong. Huge 3 by Klay -
Now Green.
-
Steph to the bucket and scores.
-
KD from distance
-

I think they need to move the 3 point line back.

-
KD with 7 straight points and OKC right in it.

I think they need to move the 3 point line back.

Yeah, let's widen the gap between the splash brothers and the rest -

OKC reminds me of Sacramento back in the 2002 western conference finals. Basically this is soul-crushing for them.

-

ah well, I wanted to get off the bandwagon anyway, the fella sitting next to me farted!

-

What an epic comeback. There was so much on the line for Golden State, at 1-3 down their whole legacy as a team was on very shaky ground. If they lost it would have validated the Charles Barkleys of the world who wrote off last year as an abberation against soft opposition, and the view that a jump shooting team can't win Championships.

It would also put a giant asterisk next to their 73-9 regular season record, and would tarnish the reputations of Curry, Thompson and Green.

But now their record has only been enhanced, and their champion status confirmed. A tough Cleveland series awaits, but their self-belief must be at an all-time high right now.
-

As I said OKC needed to win game 6.

The Cavs can win the finals as they won 2 of the first 3 games last year short-handed. Now Irving and Love are fit. They will need to shoot well from outside though. It would be great if Cleveland finally had something to celebrate in sports.

Go Cavs!!!
-
Yeah. Watch the 30 for 30 doco believeland. Cleveland fans have suffered severely over the last 50 years

That is kinda the point which muppets like mariner dont get. Taking the 3 point line out wouldnt punish players like Thompson and Curry that much. They would still make the good shots they get. But it would mean you are less likely to get rewarded for bad jacking them up in volume. It could in fact be worse for teams like OKC than GS.

I like to see different methods of playing come through. But now it is becoming a jack up a volume of 3's league. Just like they have previously balanced the game via rule changes, they could do it again.
-
Despite all of that, OKC had the chance to dethrone the champs in their hands. And they failed to execute
-

This is good news for everyone:

Was that the Ibaka foul on Curry attempting the 3?

Yeah in the end it was a good contest by Ibaka forcing a bad shot, but he got his hands in the wrong place to start out and Curry played it well.

Westbrook is probably the best at making the most of defenders having their hands in the wrong place and drawing a shooting foul. -
OKC had great runs when they shared the ball. They were undone with some soft finishing and periods of iso ball

Yeah that was the one. It was a foul. But... those hadnt been called all game (including for Westbrook). They had let it flow. And then suddenly it a clutch situation they found the whistle and then lost it again?
-

Great game to start the finals, GSW got off to a flyer but Cleveland pegged them back and edged ahead late in the 3rd.

Since then it's been allllll Warriors, with their bench turning up in the 4th- Livingston, Iguodala and Barbosa. Now up by 14 with 5 minutes left.
-
Deepest team in the NBA and it showed today. The defence was excellent and efficient shooting from the bench.

7 players in double figures without Klay being one of them. Big time team effort.

Steph's cutting and work off the ball was creating all sorts of opportunities for others. -
Holy cow, GSW pump the Cavs 77-110 to keep home court. Cleveland had no answers and will need to find some if they want to stay in the series
-

Just shows the depth in the Western Conference.

Cleveland's dominance in the Finals has been a false positive, the top 3 teams in the league are in the West, and probably five of the top six overall.

Pretty satisfying to see the Warriors do it in style. What a great team, and you'd have to think OKC would be doing the same thing if they got through the Conference Finals.
-
Once again it would appear OKC lost to the eventual champions
