What is everyone here doing? Gyms still open? Feeling at risk?
Just interested in how well set up you all feel to keep motivated and working like you were going to the gym.
The gym my son trains out of in London has decided to remain open (with extra cleaning etc) for as long as possible and he is already doing home visits for clients. As marketing for his online training he has done a free home workout program ( https://www.wiredcoaching.com/fitness-programmes/covid-19 )
I'm trying to convince him to come home and just do his online stuff until this shit dies down but he is reluctant while he can still keep clients going.
How's it all panning out for you fitness inclined bunch?
Yesterday, the Virgin gym in Wimbledon was still active.
Is that the one near Colliers Wood end? We lived a couple of minutes walk from there.
I never understood how there were enough virgins in Wimbledon for that gym to be viable.
If they close, Bounce (Wimbledon Park and New Malden) are still going with strong prevention.

Starting to cool off here, so the morning walk is back on IF I can get up early enough.
The bonus of this work from home thing during COVID is I probably don't need to.
Huh, It's been cool for a couple of weeks now. Shit summer (due to fires/torrential rain) and then winter started for a day last week.
Supposed to be a scorcher tomorrow though which will be nice.
On the actual exercise things, I did practice walks on the balcony over the last week when I was home with the remnants of my flu. It's doable ... my balcony is massive.

Doesn't count until it gets below 15C and even then, barely. You wuss.

Hey, if I have to close one of the lounge windows in the evening then it's cool!

Im not using my gym but it's still open. I went to put my service on hold and the bastards are going to charge us a minor fee for 6 weeks and then straight back to full price.
Im waiting for the mrs work to close so I can use it with no one in it. She'll be out of work but I'll have safe access to a gym.

@Nepia what kind of psycho loves a 35C day? Honestly...
This one.
Man I'm so happy being back in a cooler climate. From 33 every day ro a high of 16 today, awesome.
Did a 1hr walk with the fam this morning, then a 4km run with the older kids, then a 7km run on my own after dropping them home.
The QT- Frankton is so good.

That sounds awful - today was the best day we've had in Sydney in ages.

Looks like LesMills have provided free at-home workouts during the virus outbreak.
Bloody good on them! -

@Nepia after 3 months of 32-34 degrees @ 90% humidity, EVERY SINGLE DAY, I am loving the cooler temps here.
Aside from my run, I didn't sweat all day today - first time in 90 days I can say that!!! π€£
34 degrees in Sydney today!
I actually went for a swim!
-
@taniwharugby said in Covid-19 and keeping fit:
@Nepia only 25 here and I went for a swim today, and yesterday and the day before, you sound like a wuss
It doesn't need to be 34 for me to swim, mostly the bushfires fucked the swimming this year.

Thought a few of you might benefit from this... πBut seriously there are no excuses when there are lots of free resources to work out from home, I've had a lazy weekend and less active week working from home. I can see how it would be easy to put on a few lbs and get down, need to keep moving. Tomorrow's a fresh start going plan a routine for midday I think to perk me up for the afternoon.

Had to move all the reformers around in our pilates studio so everyone is 1.5m apart which has result in us now having a couple of them in the garage so looks like I will be doing some pilates now with my own personal instructor!
Also managed a good week of riding last week - great exercise in isolation. 86km for the week which is a fair bit for me and a fair bit of it off road too.
