NRL 2020

Great win by the boys. I think it highlights where we were giving Green to much of the play making duties. He really was fluffing around too much. Manly were a horrible team though, as our astute friend from the republic pointed out. But we were great when we played simple direct footy.
Steve Roach just fuck off. Fuck right off.
Perrnara over polices the warriors. It’s can’t be easy being a kiwi reffing the kiwi team. I think he over compensates and looks to hard for shitnthat isn’t there.@Nepia Hiku was outstanding tonight. One of our best.

Yeah I genuinely don't think we'll miss Green. I don't know if CHT is the long term solution but I'd take a young potential talent over a journeyman any day.
I was going to say that it must be hard for Perenara given that he played for the Warriors but it turns out he's played for half the NRL clubs.
Overall Manly were pretty woeful but you have to take your opposition as they come.

Broncos imploding....even more
-
Ol’ mate Green had a big smile on his face after tonight’s debut for the Knights. Ponga had a pearler
-
Interesting article here about Green. The last couple of paragraphs talk about how he is seen as one of the good guys in the NRL but pretty much did to the Sea Eagles what he did to the Warriors and left on fairly bad terms, refusing to see out his contract once the warriors tabled an offer
-
goddam no sport down here does drama better than the NRL
So last week Wayne Bennett had to isolate after having lunch at a restaurant, and so missed the "grudge match" against the Broncos.
The Broncos once again absolutely stunk the joint out, and got beat pretty easy by the Bunnies.
Then Seibold and Langer are out due to quarantine breaches (Siebold had a family emergency in Sydney).
Tevita Pangai Jnr gets outed shopping himself around to rival clubs. Then gets busted at a bikie-owned barbers, and is now out for 2 weeks.
Darius Boyd has a tantrum and drops himself from the leadership group due to not being able to get on with the coach. I assume the communication issues were the coach telling Boyd to play well, and Boyd continuing to stink the joint out.
The whole Brisbane Broncos club are currently making the Warriors look like the Melbourne Storm
-
on top of the complete collapse of the Broncos:
The Warriors won 2 in a row, and are sort of just out of the 8. Despite living in Australia, and borrowing players from other clubs. We're not a finals hope, but the effort this year has been pretty frikken good. Payton should definitely get a full time gig somewhere
The Gold Coast Titans are currently the best team in Qld. They hammered the Cowboys yesterday. At the moment the Titans are proof a good coach can transform a club. Holbrook has them competing every week, some maligned players are actually contributing, and yesterday was a big win. They have some decent talent coming next year as well.
The Panthers are flying. But Ivan Cleary is such a dick. His after match comments on the weekend should get more than a fine, he outright accused the refs of cheating. Fuck i hate the Clearys
Remember when the Tigers won the comp? God that was a long time ago. They are a basket case now. Absolutely towelled up by Newcastle on the weekend, not a week after losing to us. Mentally that club is marinated in failure.
-
-
I just heard the most delicious rumour that, if true, is a career ender.
I ain't posting it here, PM me.
-
And now reports Tevita Pangai Jnr is having his contract torn up as of pretty much today
-
is your rumour to do with a particular coach. Think I heard the same one. Search his name in facebook search to see it.

i am inclined to believe it even more now

on to actual football
The Warriors have apparently singed the centre Aitken from the Dragons for 3 years. That's a fucking good signing, he's a bloody good player.
I'm less happy with the rumours Brown is trying to get Matt Lodge from Brisbane, and Jack de Balin from the dragons. Lodge is deadshit with an unsavoury streak who is lucky to be playing. He's also a penalty magnet who has been found out a bit by the rule changes.
de Belin isn't playing because of some very very serious charges. No doubt the bloke has talent, but not the kind of guy we should be signing.I gave the Titans a fair bit of credit above, but they could undo it all by signing Moses Mbye from the Tigers. The only thing that makes it okay is if the story is true, and the Tigers will continue to pay half of his salary.

I'm going to give the Warriors the middle finger if they sign Lodge.
de Belin might be innocent but why are the Warriors offering to pay overs for guys caught up in shit?

That's ok though as you can swiftly move and support another team......

Not in league, I watch exactly one game a week normally and Kiwis test matches. I don't even watch Origin.
Also, (getting some practice for when the Warriors sign Lodge).
-
Yeah I said earlier in the year if they signed him (when his manager was trying to push his value up) that I would stop sorting them. No time for the bloke.
De Bellin has said from the start not guilty and said he would fight it all the way hasn't he? Maybe his misses was mates with Josh Reynolds ex?
Its funny for last few years we haven't had the go forward for our halves. Now we might and then not have the halves to use it.
-
so we signed Kane Evans today as well. I like this buy as well. He's a fiery player with a bit of mean streak.

Yeah Mbye is ok but not worth 815k as Buzz said. A jack of all trades but a master of none, which they already have with Tyrone Peahcey who I'm sure gets plenty more than he should. Mbye just reminds me of today's version of Brent Webb style wise. -
The Broncos are acting like there’s a rival competition they are trying to get into
-
bloodbath, Paul MacGregor gone now. Not really surprising though. This has been coming for ages.
Again, i think they just extended him? Shit clubs make bad decisions constantly.
Also, deadset, are the Broncos just trying to get the comp shut down?

Isn’t he struggling to get a run for his current club?
-
@mariner4life MacGregor is a good coach with a shit team and a shitter board. Been dealt a bad hand and they expect to win with it.
And somehow Siebold still has a job.
This year should have been a write-off. Suspend all midseason firings (excluded conduct disputes) because of the extenuating circumstances. Except for Kearney..
-
Evans looks a good chance for a suspension too based on his tackle technique due to his height.

I'm not sure about that. The Dragons aren't lacking talent. Ben Hunt on a million dollars is a bad contract though. And i think their best player is in a fair bit of legal trouble, so that doesn't help.
The Board are pretty bad though

The Melbourne Storm just will not fucking die!
Last night they played without Cam Smith and Cam Munster, and they hosed the Roosters. And played some brilliant football. I can't stand them, but it's only because they win, a lot, every fucking year. Bellamy is an incredible coach.
The Roosters were already hammered by injuries, and then they lost 3 to long term injuries last night. This is the only reason they won't win a three-peat, their squad is decimated now. Keary was the last straw.

Yeah I think the question marks on bellamys coaching are now being answered with Cronk and Slater gone and Smith nearly 40 ,
And I think the part of his coaching that gets overlooked is not just the match day stuff, its his development programs , never signs the big names , develops kids to play his way . As they lose players to other clubs , Its been a non stop conveyer belt of talent coming through.

i never had any doubts.
Those great players? who developed them? Who continues to develop young players year after year? Who takes offcasts from other clubs and turns them in to vital role players in premiership teams? He's been the best coach in the game for a decade and a half.
And they play good football too. They are a good team to watch. But, like the Patriots, like the Crusaders, like Auckland in the 80s/90s, you just hate watching the same team win every year!

Just posted this in the wrong thread....
Well well well, turned the Warriors on with 35 to go, they’re down 16-6 to the best team in the comp....
And for the next 13 minutes I’ve watched them defend wave after wave of attack, and now score a very well put together try to make it 16-12
It’s been an impressive 15 odd minutes...
Not saying they’re gonna win the game, but shit they actually look like they want to be out there playing.
-
This is another gutsy determined performance. They're winning a lot of fans

‘Warriors chasing their 3rd straight win in for the first time in more than 2 years.’
Says it all.
But a big thumbs up to them as it looks like they’re trying to address that underwhelming stat.
