Auckland Rugby 2019

According to Auckland's facebook account the squad will announced on Sunday 4 August.

Ravouvou signed from 7s/Auckland, will provide some x factor to our backline. Joe Johnston in the flankers.
-
@Tim Good. A very lazy winger despite his potential. Quite a few Auckland players from the Nick White days seem to be ending up at BOP.
-
Looks like Papalii will be back - bolsters the loosies even more.
-

-
Changes from the Taranaki game - Hooker Malu and Ruru added. Roache in for Solofa Silipa.
Faiane, Trainor, Renata, Manu, Akira Ioane not appearing in preseason, maybe resting injuries , so will be going into the season cold. Also no sign of Fa'atiga Lemalu so likely he won't be returning from England. No sign of Hawaii Ahokovi in preseason, maybe injured also? -
@Daffy-Jaffy also no Lemeki Namoa. Also injured?
-
@KiwiMurph Haven't seen him in club teamsheets for a while, so I assume so.
Be interested to see if Taufa Funaki and Zarn Sullivan get much game time.

These guys will play the U19 tourney first and foremost.
Unlikely to get a crack unless injury hits in a big way.
9s and 10s for Auckland - Ruru, Liaina, Tusitala, Plummer, Kirkpatrick, Leuila. -
@Tim proooobably not. The last time Auckland threw U19 players in was 2017 when Auckland weren't tracking all that well so....might as well give the young fellas some experience - hot off their tournament winning exploits that year. Plummer, Clarke, Faiane, Havili all had a run that year.
Sotutu was named in a game but never got on.
That was a bit of a purple patch for talent coming through. Probably won't see a group like that come through together for a while. -

Weather was cold and wet in the first half. Sun trying to break through now, hopefully sticks around for the second.
Both teams using the ball despite the conditions.
Ruru playing well.
-
Can you confirm whether the second HB try scorer was Gareth Evans please?
-
Good try for the Orcs. No.8 makes big metres off the base of the scrum and then spread wide and the left winger with no number on his back scores.
Orcs up 19-14
-
-
Now another Orc try after a loose offload by HB inside their own half. Same no number winger.
-
Sideline conversion made by Orc 10
-
@ACT-Crusader Salesi Rayasi
-
-
By the way Brodie’s shoulder looks good pushing the pram and holding the kid
-
And another try down that left hand side for the Orcs. The reserve halfback with all the blonde tips in his hair.
Some nice hands from Rayasi.

That'd be Danny Tusitala

He’s playing out on the wing now?
-
Any idea who is at 15 if Rayasi is on the wing?
-
-
@KiwiMurph they mightve gone with Leuila who played a little bit there last week against Naki?
Plummer maybe? -
@ACT-Crusader lol.....yea he played quite a bit of wing for Ponsonby this year
-
33-14 final score
-
@KiwiMurph actually that Heatherly is a fullback/wing

He’s got quick feet, but looks a little small out there.
-
@ACT-Crusader He's played a lot of 7s for Samoa the last couple of years.
