@KiwiPie what are scores like this year in comparison to same round in previous ones?

Just feels like they are a bit lower (might just be me...as in my score is lower)

@taniwharugby Not sure exactly but I agree with you, this is a low scoring year. Best result picker is only at 67% and usually it is 75% or higher. The ladder shows how hard it has been to pick with so many teams winning about as many as they have lost.

The weeks with the four special category picks have been the hardest with not many seeming to get more than one of those at best. You only need to get a slightly "unexpected" scoreline to destroy 95% of tippers. This week looks to be a bit different with Sunwolves being stone cold certainties for the lowest scoring team.

Predictable win for the Brumbies means not only quite a few maximums but also many of us picking up 5 points for the low scorer pick. Bizarrely Waynes World, Dogmeat and Broughie all went for the Sunwolves 17+ - was it a gut feeling or mixing up the home and away teams?

The BOP Chiefs stormed home against Blues B to win by a point and lead overall going into the final round. Solid scoring by all but Sportboy (4 x 50+) and Blues B had 64 by DK but just missed out not helped by Dogmeat & Broughie's brainfart. They did pick up 2 bonus points though to retain their top 4 spot.

Blues A sneaked past Canes Gold to keep their top 4 hopes alive. Solid scoring was enough for the win as Canes Gold had 2 counting scores in the 30s. Barbarians and Sunjags played out a high scoring draw, Triple T the best of the week with 66 and Joan and Mary and Chimoaus both over 60 for the Sunjags.

Finally Canes Black kept their faint hopes alive with the top score of the weekend, Hydro11 and Cactus Jack over 60 and their lowest counting score a solid 52. South Island had 61 from ACT Crusader but have now clinched the wooden spoon.

    So the table is

    BOP Chiefs 42
    Barbarians 40
    SunJags 39
    Blues B 38
    Blues A 38
    Hurricanes Black 34

and the final round of games is

    BOP Chiefs 0 - 0 Blues A
    Hurricanes Black 0 - 0 SunJags
    Blues B 0 - 0 Hurricanes Gold
    South Island 0 - 0 Barbarians

19 of 48 picked all 7 results this week with most wrong picks being for the Chiefs v Sharks game. At the top of the table, Hydro11 takes over again from Dolamite by just 4 points with another 14 points back to the resurgent DK who jumped above Gunner.

The Sequel Cup has reached the last 8

    Hydro11 0 v 0 Joan and Mary
    Triple T 0 v 0 Higgins
    Mikedogz 0 v 0 Laurence
    Donsteppa 0 v 0 Virgil

Don't feel too bad about it - if you'd both gone for the Brumbies, even just 1-8, you would have won the game and be top of the table. Like going in under the posts and then missing the conversion .....

But the BOP Chiefs team is appreciative!

@dogmeat Presumably because they have the bye this week and you'll be back on them next week?

@KiwiPie you're doing a very good job of making me feel good that the oldest professional club in the world just dropped out of the Football League

Goodness this has been a bruising round. I did a quick calculation of my score and it only just snuck into double figures and I suspect there might a some tippers giving the magical nil total a good nudge. We await KP to post the results of this week's carnage!

I was going to ask - anyone here claiming a good score for this week before I compute?
