Black Caps in India

He has some technical flaws without a doubt. He was beaten by a good length delivery earlier that didn't move off the pitch at all, he just played the wrong line.

Don't try to blame Guppy's flaws for your jinxing!
Nonetheless, a bright start.

What's that thing on the umpires arm? I haven't had the commentary on.

Protection. Amazing more umps haven't been hit from a straight drive before

Holy fuck I just realised both Neesh and Cory are playing. Though Cory only half fit as not bowling, but still that's a bit of a rarity.
-
Scotty says he'll go home if the part timer gets a wicket. Kane gets out to the part timer. Scotty on his way home.
-
Latham a decent 33 off 36 so far (NO JINX). Are we taking wagers on whether Taylor will make it to double figures?
-
Latham is becoming mr dependable when it comes to getting a start. Need him to go on with it now.
Was going to say something about Rosco but don't want to jinx him...
-
Bugger - was hoping Tommy and Rossco would stay together until at least over 35 and provide a license for our hitters.
This looks like a very good batting pitch - I think we'll need at least 300 and we might be a spinner or two short on it.
Kane might have to do some bowling - not sure about Guppy - I think the Indian video analysts might have worked him out!
-
Jesus - gifting specialist batsmen's wickets to Jadhav. Scotty Styris might really go home this time!
-
That was a very good delivery that got Rosco, dipped and turned a mile. I think he was entitled to at least stay in his crease though...
Bloody Cory gets out to a juicy full toss from the part timer... unforgivable...
-
FUCKING LUKE RONCHI. that is all.
-
FFS Ronchi!
-
Actually, add Corey Anderson to that. Hes become very Shane Watson like. as in fucking useless. Has he done anything since that super fast century?
-
Fuck you've got Dhoni, whose main trick as a keeper is lightening fast stumping's, and Ronchi plays a simple forward defensive shot outside of the crease? Batting 101... when you are playing a spinner stay in your fucking crease unless you are charging to get to the pitch of the ball...
-
What was Ronchi even doing that far down the crest. Holy hell.
Bring back Tony Blain. -

Second on this list, Coastie! That's not much help if he can't bowl though!
-
Aarggghhh!!!
-
The part-time pie chucker has 3 and I'm just about out...
-
"Nah, I don't want a bat, you have a turn". "Me neither". Squandered.

Lucky we have batting allrounder Southee out there now to smack out a ton...
-
I would settle for them blocking and taking singles, and putting the half dozen bad balls away from here on out and we might scratch out another 40 runs.
-
Yet again our middle order adds 5/8 of fuck all. Taylor at least got 44 today, but after him, Anderson 6, Ronchi 1, Santner 7, Southee 13.
FUCKING FUCKING SHIT. Can't one fucking person stick around and not be a dumb fuck and get out to a fucking part-part timer??
There are 10 overs to go, we only have 2 wickets in hand, and we're barely over 200 runs.
FUCK.

To be fair Neesham is still in, and batting how I would expect all of the above can and should do.
We don't need to blast every 2nd ball, we should understand we need to build a score and it seems pretty obvious that you can afford to be patient.Ronchi absolutely should get dropped - this is three woeful bats in a row, and I'd back Watling to get 45 off 60. That lets Southee Henry Boult tee off and make up the deficit run rate wise.
Anderson must be close to making way also. Is Nicholls touring?
-
Maybe Latham should keep in the ODIs

He really needs to. Big problem with our team is that we don't really have a batting all rounder. If Latham keeps then we can have a batsman at 5, Anderson at 6, Neesham at 7 and Santner at 8 followed by three bowlers. If you have a keeper in there, then Anderson has to bat 5. Right now our middle order is struggling because Anderson is batting at 5 and he isn't up to doing that. Ronchi also shouldn't be there at all going forward (I can see why you would want him in India). The selectors are sticking with Devcich because they realise they need a batting all rounder but he just doesn't seem to be up to the task.
-
Anderson shouldn't even be in the side. He's not good enough or consistent enough to be there as a specialist batsman. With Ronchi shit, Santner for some odd reason having a bad tour with bat and ball, and Southee squandering the talent he has on 9/10 outings, our middle-lower order is too weak.
Thank god for Neesham right now. He and Henry are dragging our score towards respectable.

Anderson shouldn't have even been in the squad.
-
Fuckin' streaky shot for his 50, but well played Jimmy. Needed that, and you've set an example to the rest of the squad.
Will post this - should Ross move down to 5? Bringing in which ever is the best top 4 batter back in NZ in. (Maybe not for this tour)
-
And Neesham gets fifty. Rather shocked that it is his first! But well done that man. Top shelf stuff when things were looking dire.
NZ 259/8.
-
Neesham and Henry doing bloody well here. Showing what happens when you don't be a dick, just accumulate runs and put away the bad ball.
Two overs to go, 268/8.
-
Henry having some fun this over against Yadav. 0, 6, 4, 4, 1...bugger, Neesham out on the last ball.
283/9.
That was a new NZ record for the 9th wicket, too.
-
Great innings from Neesh to get us up to something. This innings from Henry is something else!!

Taylor needs a bit of time to warm up. I think at 5 you want someone who is an accumulator. You want someone who can knock it around for singles and is not too reliant on boundaries. Elliott was superb in that role.
-
285 is a decent score but the pitch looks very good for batting. Will be tough to defend.
-
There's nobody back in NZ that comes even close to being as good as Taylor, and as @hydro11 says he's the kind of player that starts slow and accelerates his innings later on - he plans to bat the innings every time which is why he has so many tons.
-
All out for 285 when Boult is bowled.
BC's will be happy with something to bowl at. India will be pissed that we added 86 runs for those last two wickets.
-
Well, 285 after that start is probably a bit below par, but then after that massive collapse well above par. It gives Boult something to bowl at anyway... runs on the board can build pressure.
-
Ugh. The less said about the bowling and fielding effort, the better. Hat's off to Kohli, after given a life by Taylor, he made us pay hardcore.
