Musk & Twitter

Wow, the Guardian wasn't too bothered about the large number of people banned for disagreeing with Covid orthodoxy or trans ideology. It makes me sick. The tribal two-faced hypocrisy of everything is beyond pathetic.(right and left)

Wow, the Guardian wasn't too bothered about the large number of people banned for disagreeing with Covid orthodoxy or trans ideology. This is the newspaper, remember, which censored reports of industrial scale grooming and sex abuse of teenage girls by mainly Muslim men in Nth England on the basis that exposing it would "promote Islamophobia".
The Guardian sees Twitter as a competitor and Musk clearly doesn't share their world-view, so it's reporting on Twitter will probably be either non-existent or slanted.

Aye.

jeez, over 17M votes, seems like a bit of nothing, he'd still own it and even if he appointed a CEO...as ultimate owner he still has the power

@Kiwiwomble and he's probably already picked the CEO so just theatre. Certainly knows how to drive engagement!

So Twitter is still overwhelmingly left wing...

@antipodean have to say I just don’t know enough about how the algorithms work, I don’t use Twitter much but what I do see seems more right wing…but then others see mostly left wing…almost like it’s showing you the opposite of your own view point to get reaction

What better way to drive engagement than facilitating the perpetually aggrieved?

Havent noticed any difference with my Twitter experience in the last couple fo years. Is Twitter losing market share or is musk just the new trump?

There's been some technical issues but I haven't really noticed them. I think they've affected other timezones more. Those are mostly because of legacy code problems
Personally, my twitter experience has improved. I try not to follow more than 30-40 people at any given time. Over the years so many of the people I follow had been banned (just under 50 by a rough count). Since Musk took over about half of those banned accounts returned. Every other day an old favourite would reappear
So I've been having to cull accounts to keep the noise level down. The quality for me has drastically improved

Musk always wins. He's a genius. X means Xtra services. Watch him successfully monetize and cross sell.

If only other people had thought of copyrighting X earlier. Genius.
