@nzzp Yes, private gatherings will have number limits for unvaccinated and at Red but aren't banned outright at any colour even for unvaccinated attendees. That doesn't preclude additional localised restrictions if hospitalisations/ICU numbers are particularly bad.

@godder thanks dude.
Just to be clear - at all Traffic Light levels we can host people and visit people insdie their homes? It seems that's implied but not stated anywhere
According to the Deputy PM, rules at Red for private homes are the same as for businesses. 26 or more people and you can’t have any unvaxxed.

Lol I don't see how they expect to be able to police private residences unless they are sending police round to check peoples vaccination status. Which would be insanely dystopian.

I don't expect it unless there are complaints from the neighbours, but other countries managed it.

@canefan an abundance of caution I guess. Hard to put the genie back in the bottle if it goes pear-shaped, and not wanting to yo-yo either.
Do you know if these tests will be sufficient to be let out the Auckland prison over Xmas?
From this article, under consideration apparently.
Currently, a PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel is required for travel out of Auckland. However, other testing methods are being considered, the spokesperson said.
Also, tests will be free for the purpose of travelling in and out of Auckland. Tests for travel on Air NZ will not be free except for in and out of Auckland.

I wonder how true this claim is? It would be very bad for my work travel ability if this was true.

Unless boundaries are explicitly put up, no regional boundaries. Haven't seen a requirement to be vaccinated or negative test as yet other than Auckland. Edit: PM has just confirmed no other boundaries.

So Auckland still has the boundary on it? So they are still essentially "locked in"?

Roger! Completely forgot about that. Cheers

Next review 13 December then 17 January. Regions may go from Red to Orange but Orange to Green unlikely before 17 January. Fortnightly reviews after 17 January.
Regions may be moved to red at any time if pressure on hospitals and contact tracing requires it.

Going to be fun introducing masks at school for year 4s+ for the last few weeks of term. Enough of a fight to get the little feckers to put their hats on outside, now it's masks on inside!
I like the vaccine pass idea, but since it is just a PDF with QR code on it, it is totally open to abuse. Would take a few minutes on Adobe Reader to put any old name on the top, not like they are going to be closely scrutinised and there is no record kept - so a dozen people in a row could use the same code. Oh well
