Just processing the tips and sorting into teams. Absentee tippers who are regulars are @Virgil & @Smudge but all the others appear to have returned which is great news.

New tippers are Andrew Farrell & Jonathan Wiltshire - welcome. There is a Facebook group you can join which has reminders to tip if you're more likely to see it there rather than here. https://www.facebook.com/groups/590271681147113

Post a message on this thread so we know who you are.

All live now for Week 1 at https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/

Hooroo is the early leader by 7 points after a superb score of 61, only missing the first result and nailing both category picks (Wellington & Northland for high and low score). Antipodean is 2nd with Stargazer in 3rd. Hooroo, Antipodean, Mikedogz, OomPB and Cactus Jack all picked 6/7 results. The fact that the first 4 of those are all in the Counties-Waikato team means they top scored for the round. At the other end of the table, only 22 pts for Andrew Farrell, Delicatessen & FarNthHayden.

Wins for South Island, Counties-Waikato, Bay of Plenty & Wellington in Round 1. South Island picked up the only bonus point for getting 3+ maximums more than their opponent (Wairarapa Bush) and so they are the early leaders.

48 tipped in all so they all slot nicely into 8 teams and all teams have 6 tippers. For those who chose Individual I have assigned you a team - you can see which team it is on the Leaderboard.

The form is live for Week 2.

@virgil C'mon Virgil you can still do it. Form fluctuates and you have your good weeks and your bad weeks, no better example of this than the likes of @kiwipie who had a bit of a toe stubbing first time up!!!!!

Tipping half the time but not overthinking it sounds good enough for a Top Ten finish.

Because there is a (BoP) Mafia involved? 🙂 Top ten isn't quite victory either...

    The scores are in https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/

In the Teams comp, wins for Counties-Waikato, Wairarapa Bush, South Island & Wellington. Northland were 2 players short and BOP 1 player short (if you don't tip you score 5 less than the lowest score - in this case 17 as DK scored 22).

South Island lead after 2 rounds with Counties-Waikato & Wellington also 2 wins from 2. Hawke's Bay, Harbour-Auckland and Northland all with 2 defeats to start.

Best of the weekend was Dogmeat with 57 points, picking all 7 games (as did TR and Bay Imports). Most picked 6/7 which meant higher scoring overall than last week. Hooroo still holds the overall lead by 6 from Corkscrew and Stargazer with Justin77 up to 4th and Langakali to 5th.

Missing tippers from last week were Jonathan Wiltshire @sportboy @KiwiMurph @Gunner Andrew Farrell and @FarNthHayden

I have a plan? Complete opportunist. That's why I am so good.

@snowy I would never credit / accuse you of anything as substantial as a plan...

No I meant the tippers that are missing haven't been in your basement (I assume)

@dogmeat Right you are then, re me ever having a plan that actually might work is ludicrous.

The question then is have any of these tippers "visited" my place. Did they piss me off?

2nd Friday now... I get a pop-up reminder on work calendar - to do various bits of paperwork, with the very first item on the list being "TSF Tipping"...

    • I excitedly click on the link, and start thinking about a weekend of rugby ahead...
    • And then remember... yeah.... nah....

The more I think about it the more I think that we should just stop the comp now.

Have you thought of picking out maybe a Heartland and/or FPC match to pad things out?
