Or as SA rugby fans might say, trans stain.

Good to see detailed analysis and stats to back up what is essentially a common sense argument.
As has been said before, I think we will end up with an open class and a biological womans class. If we don't, that's the end of woman's sport.

This would be like prime Frans Botha having to fight the dregs in the heavyweight division today. It would get ugly fast.
-
uglier than Frans Botha?

It's what I should be, but I just can't see it unfortunately.
Anything where trans people aren't treated 100% as the gender they have converted too is smashed down hard as transphobic. It's only a matter of time until there is a scientific led report which states that if you take xxx of xxxx drugs over a period of xxx time then no longer have any biological advantage & any other research is widely discredited.

In MMA and perhaps Rugby, will only be a matter of time before a biological woman is severly injured by a trans woman then.

World Rugby approves updated transgender participation guidelines
World Rugby has approved updated transgender participation guidelines following a comprehensive, collaborative and transparent review of its existing guidance.
The new guidelines [which can be accessed here] cover the participation of transgender athletes in men’s and women’s contact rugby where it is possible to do so safely and fairly.
As with many other sports, the physiological differences between males and females necessitate dedicated men’s and women’s contact rugby categories for safety and performance reasons. Given the best available evidence for the effects of testosterone reduction on these physical attributes for transgender women, it was concluded that safety and fairness cannot presently be assured for women competing against transwomen in contact rugby.
As a result, the new guidelines do not recommend that transwomen play women’s contact rugby on safety grounds at the elite and international level of the game where size, strength, power and speed are crucial for both risk and performance, but do not preclude national unions from flexibility in their application of the guidelines at the domestic/community level of the game. Transmen are permitted to participate in men’s contact rugby.
World Rugby is committed to regularly reviewing the guidance to monitor and consider any new evidence or research in an inclusive and collaborative manner. This commitment includes the funding and support of more rugby-specific transgender research to further inform injury risk.
The media release also sets out the process undertaken to draft the guidelines. -
@raznomore Yes, indeed. It will be interesting to see what NZR is going to decide about domestic/community rugby. I understand they're not keen on an outright ban on participation of transwomen in women's rugby, but not sure what they do want or under which conditions.
-
New Zealand Rugby's Chief Transformation Officer Nicki Nicol told NZME that the decision wasn't one they entirely agreed with.
"New Zealand Rugby provided World Rugby with feedback on transgender participation guidelines, having considered feedback from various transgender and women's sport advocacy groups.
"Our feedback to World Rugby was that a more inclusive approach could be taken. And, while we support the focus on the safety of rugby, we aren't convinced the research presented to date shows transwomen present a significantly greater safety risk in women's elite and international competitions.
"World Rugby's guidelines don't apply to our community game here in New Zealand and we're committed to ensuring the game's inclusive and safe for all. We know there is more work to do and we want to get it right. We will be consulting more broadly and doing more work to develop guidelines that are relevant for New Zealand communities."

And the evidence continues to accumulate that NZR is run by morons.

@TeWaio Apparently, NZR is still sitting on the fence and wants more research, too.
Woke dipshits
