@Nepia My Waikato team had ALB and DMac in those positions. The caveat is that both were very young when they played for Waikato so they've been picked on SR and AB form.
Andrew Strawbridge went close at fullback in my team. He's 3rd on the points list BTW, with The Boot 2nd.

Now that I have thought a bit more, maybe Paul Cooke or Tony Maidens on the wing?
I agree with @Nepia about Falcon at 8, no-one better in his prime. And also Horrell, even if not homegrown. The only other contender that I can remember who was a great regular 12 was Davis Norman, but that is probably showing my age. I do think that Danny Toala can eclipse them all with the right focus and opportunities

Maidens wouldn't really be in the conversations to start though would he? Guildford, Cooke, Randle, Taylor etc would all be ahead in the queue.

But he was capped for NZ (well, at 7's)...

As were Guildford and Randle, and Trinity Spooner Neera for that matter.
Actually, that reminds me Tafai Ioasa is another nomination for the loosies.

@Nepia could run Bert Cooke at 12
Yeah, if it was non NPC era it would be between Cooke and Blake in the 20s and MacRae and Davis from the 60s.

Not sure @Gunner
George Konia played for Manawatu first ....
But played for Hawkes Bay schools before that.
I assume @Gunner is suggesting he's a bad coach and that's why we'd want him coaching the Taniwha?
Yes you're right.
In 1987, his last year at Te Aute College, he made the HB Under 18 team that won the Central Region Under 18 title.
That HB Under 18 team contained Shaun Bell, Aaron Hamilton, George Konia, Nathan Paewai, John Timu, Andre Bell, Jason McDowell, Stu Forster, Greg Halford, George Ormond, Justin Cullen and Gordon Falcon, who all went on to play first-class rugby.
No wonder they beat Wellington 25-7 in the final.

Damn, that team was stacked!

@Stargazer As you're clearly going to be our team captain, how are we going to select our team?
