Due to this Patreon business the Fern is now a socialised rugby forum ....
It's a voluntary society consistent with anarcho capitalism

Not sure that exists in the traditional sense of the word "socialised", we have Cantabs here after all, but politically we could all be commies before the week is out (although that does seem unlikely too).

And using an anti-conservative platform for subscription
You didn't want to use the new Jordan Peterson/Dave Rubin etc platform?

Now that Lenin (Bart) has "died", it will be interesting to see who wins out of Trotsky (Kirwan) and Stalin (Duluth) for control of the TSF Comintern.

You took us over the $100 NZD mark, so thanks everybody. Going to see how this settles down over February, then we move up to the next size server. This will double the CPU and RAM, and give us more bandwidth.
In terms of performance, memory is the bottleneck, so that should have a good impact. Duluth is also turning on metrics for this, so we can monitor this more closely.
Happy to contribute more if it would help - but as others say, not keen to see your workload ramp as a result. Please put the call out if you want more support

Nah, it's not an issue
The monitoring tool @Kirwan mentioned will take ~30secs to install next time I upgrade the software.
The server upgrade (assuming we do it) is a single button push and then waiting 30mins
Any other changes was stuff that was happening anyway

I go on holiday for a couple weeks and the whole place changes!
Great decision, sadly things are likely to get worse in the adwords/censorship front before they get better. Imagine inadvertently losing revenue because a certain Blues flanker happens to have a great game worthy of particular mention or even a FABTR thread.
Independent is the way to go and Im happy to throw some dollars toward that.

Out of interest what %age of the donation do Patreon take?
Also, is there a way we can directly transfer cash (lump sum instead of monthly/no Patreon fees) etc?
I'm late in finding this - happy to contribute, but wondering if you came up with options for Nepia's lump sum contribution scheme?
I can still post you a cheque for a five year subscription OR - get fucked in advance techies - send you Hey, Hey, Hey... some Bitconnect tokens! (Actually, I can't - but, I can post you some sheep shit in an envelope, which is more use if you have a garden).
Actually, I can send you some cash via internet banking - I'm not keen on Patreon, because I'm trying to minimize my credit card use and it will piss me off if I miss a $1 repayment and have to give the fucking ANZ Bank $12 in late payment fees.
PM me.

Just letting you know I need to reinstate my Patreon.
Credit card got hacked so bank canceled it. (Whole heap of 50c USD transactions, about 10 in quick succession, then a larger one for $USD10.)
All got refunded about 10 days later so that's all good. But I've been lazy and not fixed the Patreon payment. Sorry.
