@barbarian would it help if we let them do the kayaks over like 8 different distances? And then like backwards. For 8 different distances. And then with like 2 short paddles. With 8 different distances.
And it could a week. And like 3 countries could get a million medals.
They kind of do even now. Look at those events the Fox family cleaned up in. Talk about niche.

Or three people.
Michael Phelps has got as many all time Olympic medals as Portugal.
Though Michael is a bit of a try hard.
I've got as many as Bangladesh and I've barely got off my couch.

If things went perfectly, you could probably hope to get another half dozen medals.
Carrington, Fisher, Ko, Kerr - plus a couple in the cycling (I'd look for Andrews and the Madison guys - don't know anything about the chances of the others).
It will be a bit disastrous if we don't get at least two more.
Something in between will be good!

I only watched the first few holes in Ko's round. However what I saw was impressive. She got into real trouble on 2 of them but calmly got out of trouble and made par. Then she drove well and made an easy birdie. I am not surprised to see her tied for first this morning.

You ask the same question literally every day
Do you have a bet on?

Breakdancing is on, excuse me Breaking
We've hit rock bottom
Absolute fucking shambles
It's like watching a Bar Mitzvah
Breaking? Broken
The farce may have been necessary. And thanks to an Australian we may not see this type of cringe again:

Don’t know what’s funnier the fact this actually was made an Olympic sport or the fact Australia actually sucking at said “sport” finally

Just got a chance to watch the men's basketball SF, USA vs Serbia. Wow that was a great game. Jokic was superb as the fulcrum of their offense, the Serbs pass and shoot extremely well. The US left it extremely late but standout performances from Steph, LeBron and Embiid in particular got them home

I mean you joke, but kayaking kind of does that. Four different distances, and then they do one where you use a different paddle and have to kneel (again four distances).
Then they do one with someone else. Then one with three other people.
It's not swimming, but it's closer to swimming than any other sport. Add in a relay of some kind and you're pretty much there.
And at least the swimmers can fill eight lanes. Some of the kayaking sprint races barely have enough for heats.

It's funny how most of the sports we win medals in, we are sitting down. Kayaking, Rowing, Cycling and Sailing.
On our arses. I still remember the LA Olympics headline in the Oz papers ..
