My mini pet hate on this forum: cutting and pasting newspaper articles in their entirety.

Just paste the link: if I'm interested I'll click. If I'm not I don't get finger arthritis scrolling down.

Merci. -

I'm the opposite, you don't want to risk clicking on a Ratpoo, Walrus or Gallagher link by mistake.
-

My mini pet hate is people too lazy to post the article. Why would I want to click to see it when I can read it here? -

I like o think in some small way posting their entire articles means less clicks and the day they are out of work draws closer.
-
Ok I'm in the minority.

Yeah I try to do it that way...every now and then, there isnt much to be gained by the whole article so I post an extract from it with the link.
-

Yep. Agree entirely. -
Does Brown's one year signing clear the way for Joe Schmidt to take over in 2018?

Replying because this discussion is in response to an article that I quoted:

I indicated clearly that the article came from the Stuff website. I didn't see the need to include the link because I quoted the whole article, including the title, time and date. If I had quoted only a part of the article (which I sometimes do), I would have added the link. No author was mentioned above/in the article, otherwise I would have included that name in the quote as well.

I do sometimes quote articles because I find links annoying if I don't know what article/topic it is directing me to. I tend not to click on them, unless I know it leads to an article on a topic/player etc I'm interested in. From reading on the Fern, I understand that I'm not the only one, which is confirmed by some of the responses above.
-

As I say, I'm not too worried about it, but if anyone (sports clubs etc) asks us if they can use one of our stories on their website, our general stance is that we would appreciate the link being posted along with the story, as it at least gives the reader the opportunity to click through to our website. Which, in turn, might help our online advertising by the most minimal of margins, therefore assisting in paying a smidgen towards our giant salaries. Chances are the reader won't click on the link, but at least the option is there.

So the new coach will be stuck with those two as assistants for a season. Unless Hammer is being groomed to ruin I mean take over another super franchise?

Hammett was the worse win / loss in Canes history.

Got rid of several of our favorites, and still produced terrible results.

As soon as he is replaced we make the finals.

Failed overseas.

How on earth does he get employed again? Why do people defend him?

I'm just thrilled that he is nowhere near the Canes.
-

It's a bit disappointing that Tony Brown will not back himself to be a Head Coach beyond one year. It's not exactly a confident move that he is willing to then become an assistant again, and not just willing but wants to return to be somebody else's assistant after having head coaching responsibility.
